So often, Microsoft Flight Simulator feels like the future. I've been playing daily for pretty much a month now, and I still struggle on occasion to believe it's real; dozens of hours logged in the skies and the sight of the sun dipping over the horizon, some troublesome weather bubbling over a city or the hazy dawn seen from five miles high will still have me catching my breath, fumbling for the capture button or hurriedly getting out my phone to take a picture of the screen. As a technical achievement, what lead developer Asobo has conjured here is remarkable - in a year when we're seeing the introduction of powerful new consoles, I'd be surprised if either can yet produce a spectacle as eye-catching and awe-inspiring as something that can run without much grumbling on an aging and moderately specced PC.
Today third-party developers shared quite a lot of interesting news and releases of add-ons for Microsoft Flight Simulator, including aircraft and scenery.
Today is a big day for Microsoft Flight Simulator, with plenty of juicy news and releases across aircraft and scenery add-ons.
Microsoft revealed sales numbers for the Antonov an-225 released for Microsoft Flight Simulator, with proceeds going to the Ukrainian manufacturer.
The problem is that a sim isnt for everyone. Thats why there isnt any hype with the game. But with covid this is the best way to travel to another country.....
Watched 4hrs last night with "flightdeck2sim" yt, a pilot who helped MS witht the game.
Worth a watch to learn what all the buttons do on the cockpits and stuff and was certainly a good refresh for me.
Game looks great and looking fwd to playing it sometime soon.
I am sure people will dabble but the reality is, most will drop off after a few hours. The problem in the short term for flight simmers is that the default planes are so simply modeled in respect of their systems and procedures that they will only really enjoy it once the add on aircraft from 3rd parties start arriving.
I cannot go from a PMDG aircraft to the default planes, they just don't compare. I see me messing around in it, but when it come to my flights for my virtual airline, I'll be sticking with earlier iterations of flight sim for the time being. It does bode well however, the idea of my add on aircraft inside this sim has me super excited, I cannot believe how good the visuals are in this game.
Can't wait for Thier in depth performance analysis I want to know what they mean by "something that can run without much grumbling on an aging and moderately specced PC"
While it does look amazing, for me I find it boring just to fly around without much action.
