ONM writes: "We've been really impressed with Gameloft lately. Last month we reviewed Real Football 2009, a surprisingly fun challenger to Pro Evolution Soccer. This month it's Guitar Hero's turn in the firing line, and once again the game has far exceeded our expectations.
Guitar Rock Tour lets you play either guitar or drums. The guitar sections are played entirely using the touchscreen, with you tapping the six different strings as notes pass over them, Guitar Hero-style. You can do advanced tricks like hammer-ons and pull-offs, as well as activating a star power-like effect by pressing the D-Pad."
Guitar Rock Tour is an admirable attempt to make a downloadable handheld version of Guitar Hero for the DSiWare. The problem here lies in the fact that where this game succeeds is not enough to overlook where it faulters. The lack of vocals and song variety is inexcusable, and unless you are a beginner who has not played a music and rhythm game before pass on this one, as it offers nothing new to experienced players.
NL writes: "Guitar Rock Tour is a rerelease of the game of the same name we saw on Nintendo DS late last year. The game falls into the genre of games such as Guitar Hero and Rock Band, albeit on somewhat of a budget. There are fifteen tracks to tap along to and two modes of play over three levels of difficulty."
Slashgamer: "Prince is considered to be one of the greatest musicians of our time. Honestly, even if for some reason you can't stand him, it's hard to argue his greatness, just look at his achievements. The artiest has won seven Grammy Awards, one Golden Globe and even an Academy Award for his work on Purple Rain.
Even with his legendary work, comes controversy. Without me getting to much into it, just go to his Wikipedia page and look under 'controversy.' With that said, PBS asked Prince on his thoughts about Guitar Hero. Although he didn't necessarily criticizes the rhythm game, he just doesn't think it should be a substitute for playing an actual guitar."
