That captures no feels from the original Goonies movie. Not a single feeling was captured during the developement of this ancient-looking game.

A real Goonies game was my dream, my wish, and it didn't come true. So I'm taking it back. I'm takin 'em all back.

Look I get the charm of classic games, but I’m not sure if stuff like this is going to fly nowadays. I mean who is actively seeking out new games like this, let alone buying a console to play games like this?

Not disagreeing with you. When these have seen release in physical format the person releasing them has usually kept it at 50 to 100 copies.

Kind of telling just how big this market is. Most are completist collectors buying them up or resellers hoping to 10x their money.

Digital releases are rare with these retro style games.

Piko Interactive is the only retro publisher I know that doesn't do the artificial limited supply with releases.
