It's a port from the switch content not the graphics, it will probably be 4k native with HDR. Havent played a Dragon Quest Game since the PS2, not counting that Dinasty Warriors clone.

Wrong imortus_san this is a port of the Switch GRAPHICS AND CONTENT. Its already been confirmed. This will not be enhanced for Xbox one x or ps4 pro. And it will contain all the lowered character models from the switch version

As autobotdan says, it's already been confirmed. I'm glad it's coming to game pass, because even with the extra content, I'm not going to double dip when the visuals are downgraded drastically when compared to the original.

It will get a resolution bump, but that is all.

Why would anyone who owns a game care if it goes on gamepass? If you own it you can play it any time you want, and not just while it's on game pass but for the rest of your life.

As a fan of DQ i intend to keep the game as long as possible whichever the console i play. Relying on subscribtion that the game may disappear anytime is not my thing, at least specifically for DQ.

I meant it more of a joke. I could’ve waited for a price drop-or simply have gotten it on PS4 where it’s like $20. I willingly spent the $60. It was just one of those things were you buy it and then hear of a better value later. Kinda like when you buy a console and a couple of months later they announce a price drop. Woops.

This would be such a good announcement if it wasn’t revealed that Square is just porting the Switch version. On PC and PS4 , you’ll have to choose between a version that looks better or one that has better QoL and music. Square should have put in some effort.

The main reason why is cause the Xbox doesn't sale at all in Japan. I use to live in Japan when this game came out most stores don't even Sale the XBox 1. This game isn't gonna make people but it in japan since people ether have it on the PS4 or Switch or PC already.

So far one of the biggest differences with the vanilla and switch release is how they changed the global illumination and the shadows being pre-baked on switch. The resolution and FPS will obviously be different. But the asset changes that were made just for the switch won't. Only hope left is some modders going out of their way to replace all the prebaked lighting assets and implementing the global illumination feature from the vanilla. This is just a low budget port instead of them adding to the original game. I'm guessing they don't expect good sales since they're asking people to rebuy the same game. It barely works with Persona, and I guess they feel DQ doesn't have that power to sell. Which is probably correct. But still it's a low effort job that only hurts sales.

I'm all in favor of seeing Japanese developed games going to Xbox. It's one of the main reasons why I loved the Xbox 360. At that point of time they were actively trying to appeal to Japanese gamers and this generation it seems like they gave up on that. I'd like to see MS create a Japanese studio to make exclusives and not just buying a studio because that's the easy way and then instead of getting new ip's we just loose games on the PS4 and Switch.
