New PS5 Image Shows Horizontal View For Both Console Editions

It looks like the console stand will be included in the box this time around. If it is I'll definitely place my ps5 vertically this time around.

I would say the stands are different then each other from the looks of it but not 100%

The disc versions stand has a slightly raised side compared to the digital, to take the disc tray into account.

For better cooling it’s should always stands vertically. Since the PS2 the vertical stand is the best gamers choice.

@Innoxent na I dont know man, from the looks of what @IRetrouk posted it shows the stands being different when standing up. The disc version is higher then the digital, I now do think there is 2 different stands.

I'd be surprised if they didn't since the console's shape don't look very assuring if placed vertically without a stand nor would it sit level horizontally.

The Disc version looks really good when placed horizontal. Mitigates the Disc bump.
The Digital version is meant to be placed vertical. Horizontally kinda makes it look weird.

I think it looks even better on it's side. The digital version on the side looks wild - like it's suspended on one side. Like a piece of art, seriously.
Anyway, this should fit nicely in my rack horizontally right where my PS4 pro is now

I kinda prefer my console placed horizontally. Even my PS2 was kept horizontal.
The only exception was my Xbox 360. Dunno why, never liked it when placed on its side.
The Series X also looks bizarre when placed horizontally.
So my preference this year-end: PS5-Disc(horizontal) and XSX(vertical, obvs)

I'm getting the disc version, primarily for 4k uhd blu rays and a few special editions I purchase for games I really like, and will be placing it horizontally. For most games this will be the first generation where I expect most of my game purchases to be digital....the convenience of digital is hard to bypass, so I think that's the way I'll go for most games.

I like the PS5 standing vertically, horizontal makes the units look out of place. The hood near the top should be smoothed out, adds nothing to the design besides making it look like my router popping it's collar. I will wait for additional color schemes, this might look out of place. I prefer black with blue light accents to go with my setup as my wall is gray, black speakers along with receivers, PC and other consoles.

I think we'll see a black version too; the official Twitter showed a all black controller in the event promotions (yet they only showed the white version for the event) so I think it's safe to say if there's an black controller we'll be getting an all black console option too.

The Blu-ray version looks more symmetrical horizontally and the digital version looks more symmetrical vertically. Very interesting design all around. Personally, I prefer both versions in the vertical position.

So on stand in horizontal position which allows the bottom of console to breathe. Good idea . When i dj'd parties with a power amp, i always put power amp on milk crate so amp would not over-heat.

Lets be honest, as good as the games look, this console looks ridiculous horizontal. I get the router jokes when its vertical but it still looks good. Horizontal it looks weird. I don't by consoles for how they look so its no biggie to me since my consoles go into a cabinet. However, it almost looks like the horizontal look was completely ignored. Look for a redesign when the slim version is released much later.
