Sega has released the Japanese TV commercial of its upcoming adventure game 428 for the Wii scheduled for December 4 in Japan.
Take photorealistic graphics on the PSP and collide them with 24-style action-drama and you have an idea of what Jiro Ishii's 428: Fuusa Sareta Shibuya De is like. Automaton's Shehzaan Abdulla takes a look at the hilarious, and hilariously underated game in a genre that is almost unheard of outside of Japan: The sound novel. The article covers some of the strong points of the game, making a case for it as an underapperciated gem deserving of localization.
Siliconera: Set in Shibuya, Chunsoft’s visual novel 428 follows five characters locked in the district after a kidnapping. Players switch characters and perspectives ranging from Shinya, a detective, to Tama, a person dressed in a cat mascot costume. Together these characters unknowingly work together to solve the mystery behind the blockade
SCRAWL: "The latest issue of Famitsu magazine has announced that 428, a graphic-novel game for the Wii that received a perfect score in Famitsu, is coming to PlayStation 3 and PSP soon in Japan. Of course, it's nothing to drool over, since those who can't read Japanese can make no use of the game. The PlayStation 3 version will go for 7140 Yen and the PSP version will sell for 5040 Yen."
