So what does this thing do again? Cuz I don't think I've ever seen a straight answer.

TheEnigma3131452d ago

I think it's android based or something.

Kumakai1452d ago

its actually linux based and will play games developed speciifically for it.

SierraGuy1452d ago

Still better than Stadia... somehow.

Neonridr1452d ago

it plays atari games.. and some other stuff. No clue. I backed this thing and I'm in the dark about it as well.

Vits1452d ago

It's a custom PC based on a Ryzen Embedded SoC and a custom Linux distro. Basically you can use it as a normal PC, but Atari customization would also offer a more streamelined experience with it's own store, being close to a traditional console.

The idea itself is not bad. But the hardware is just lacking for 2020. It should be comparable to a Athlon 3000G machine, that means that a game like The Witcher 3 would suffer to reach 30 fps running on low settings and 720p. It would only be good for eSport games like LOL and emulators. But for $400 that is just not good enough.

Let just give it a chance first and see where this thing will go. More competition is never a bad thing.

Darkborn1452d ago

This was dead before arrival. We still don't know anything about it and it's been delayed multiple times.

JackBNimble1452d ago

Does it stream or something?

Knightofelemia1452d ago

I know about as much as you do with this Atari thing have a feeling it will start to sink like Stadia

Kumakai1452d ago
