Coming Soon to Xbox Game Pass for Console: Alan Wake, Cities: Skylines, and Minecraft Dungeons

Xbox Wire: "Lately, I’ve been spending more time chatting with friends about games I remember playing as a kid, or which ones that are coming soon I’m really excited about. On that note, I’m happy to say Xbox Game Pass is here to help share in this excitement!"

Unfortunately, no Xbox achievements for the PC version of Alan Wake which is a huge bummer. Love the game, but too much on the back log right now to give it another go without them.

Lennoxb631452d ago

I never thought PC gamers cared about achievements. 🤔

timotim1452d ago

I dont think of myself strictly as a "PC gamer", though I do game on both PC and console.

SegaGamer1452d ago

I care, but they aren't a deal breaker for me. I would rather have them than not have them though. If Epic had them, I would buy games on their store. There is no point buying games on Epic's store if I can get a better version on Steam.

Believe it or not, there was a time when no game had achievements. Honestly, who gives AF about meaningless points.

I know...Ive been gaming since the 80s haha. However, Ive already beat the game on 360, would have been tempted to play it again, but my back log is crazy right now and I'm trying to knock some games off the list. Achievements would have given me some incentive to double dip, but Ill just chalk it on this one.

In terms of given AF...gaming has evolved as it always should. Achievements is now apart of the gaming landscape no matter how you feel about them. I personally love them, and if you have two versions of the same game, one with them, the other without them, I'm going to pick the one with them every time. Having said that, I purchased Shenmue 3 on PC without achievements (Epic store)...but it was the only way I could play the game at launch so I did.

Except they aren't meaningless. They give you reward points. Guess what I haven't spent a dime on gamepass because of it.

Alan Wake already up and downloaded

Outlawzz1452d ago

Nice I never played Alan wake. Not a fan of survival horror games tho, hopefully there's enough interest in there for me. The game is highly acclaimed.

Its more suppense shooter than horror , i do not like horror games much but this was pretty cool.

Kind of a goody story...

On a serious note, that is why I try activating gift cards asap. It's happened to me where the store didnt scan it right where the card was unusuable. Happened at Wally World.

wait, that place is real? national lampoon wasn't kidding?

Tacoboto26d ago

I just bought two of the MonsterVerse Godzilla movies on 4K - both had digital copies expiring in 2023. Both were actually expired.

I'd be surprised but it's WB, of course they'd actually expire them

Knightofelemia27d ago

Usually most of those redemption card have an expiry date on them. If they expired all buyer did was buy recycled paper. And some of those codes are country locked to certain countries. I buy a card from the States I can't use it in Canada.

Dumb and silly story. She wasted her money for no reason.

Is it really that hard to go to Steam or GOG. She spent $240, when its currently 70% off on GOG, and only costs $4.49.

Gee, I wonder, should I spend $240 on eBay, or $4.49 on GOG? 🙄

Rynxie27d ago

Most likely she wanted to resell a few or most of them. However, it was a too good to be true situation.

Profchaos27d ago

So in short she paid $240.00 assuming usd for a bunch on unactivated game codes.

I still don't understand why I guess cause there's not a physical version and she wanted something for a collection or art project.

Rynxie27d ago

No, most likely to resell. However, she ended up getting screwed.

Asplundh27d ago

This is Alan Wake 1, it had physical copies.

Cities: Skylines II Review - Boss Level Gamer

BLG writes, "Cities: Skylines II is a very worthy sequel to the popular 2015 city-building that improves upon the original. It could stand to use some quality-of-life updates, performance optimization, and mod support, but don't let that deter you from diving in."
