HROT is a game for the true boomers - those who think modern graphics are too extraneous and headshots are for millennials.
HROT is a single-player retro FPS set in terrifying times and all brown. Jump Dash Roll Quakes in our boots and heads to its Doom in today's review.
If there's one thing I've learned from HROT, it's that Czechoslovakia was a weird place in the late 80s. In my time with the first episode of this Early Access shooter, I came across floating, projectile-shooting heads, teleporting, gas mask-clad soldiers, and a rocket-shooting gymnastics pommel horse out for blood. That's just some of the horrors you'll come across in this trip of a retro FPS.
HROT from Spytihněv and Open for Business is a grim retro FPS that feels like a combo of Quake, Half-Life, and Metro 2033, set in 1986 Czechoslovakia.
This looks fantastic. The first place is called Gotwaldova ha ha. Demo is up on Steam.
