I'm surprised to see Persona 5 Royal beating Resident Evil 3 in the PS4 list.

Felix_Argyle_Catbro1506d ago

RE3 came out in April, not March.

Nyxus1506d ago (Edited 1506d ago )

Yes I know but it's counted anyway. The list is for March 1 - April 4.

Nyxus1506d ago

Yes of course there's that. Although P5R also released all the way at the end of March.

With that NPD disclaimer about not having all the real and relevant information, I shouldn't use this as a real picture of the market. I wish there was a place with all the data.

Anyway I am glad for Animal Crossing. Nintendo keeps proving this is not about how powerful is the hardware, is about exclusive games.

Next month will be FF7 Remake, another exclusive game riding high in the cloud.

septemberindecember1506d ago

What do you mean by they don't have the real and relevant information?

FF7: remake will definitely be number 1 next NPD!

Neonridr1505d ago

why is it always that numbers are never true except when Sony is on top? Did you not expect Animal Crossing to sell well? It was a hugely anticipated game as well. In Japan alone this game has moved like 3 million units.

Honestly even with FFVII for April AC could still come out on top.

The 10th Rider1505d ago

Animal Crossing number one in April could definitely happen. The game is seeing fantastic legs in Japan already and if it has the same in the US, that combined with having the full month to sell could give it a leg up. Only thing is Nintendo doesn't include digital sales.

DEEHULK881505d ago

FF7 remake is not an exclusive

TheColbertinator1506d ago

Persona 5 Royal, FFVIIR, Animal Crossing and RE3 Remake...finally some decent food.

Persona 5 Royal is my top 10 game of all time. A true masterpiece.

Barlos23d ago

Same here. Not only is it one of my favourite RPGs, it's also one of my favourite ever games. I keep coming back to it time and time again.

Chard23d ago

What’s so good about it?

DustMan23d ago

Why not read one of the reviews and find out?

CrimsonWing6923d ago

4.8? This game is literally one of the best modern JRPGs. I’d give it the perfect score.

Persona: How A Spin-Off Game Series Can Ruin The Original

"Newer Persona games dive into the simulation of a high school student at the cost of RPG mechanics compared to Shin Megami Tensei." - Najam from eXputer.

DrDoomer45d ago

Persona (particularly 3,4 and 5) is the best thing to come out of Atlus, by far. The only way other games get ruined is by paling in comparison.

gold_drake45d ago (Edited 45d ago )

thats a hot take if ive ever seen one.

atlus aint just persona.

they have plenty of games that are fantastic that are not persona.

maybe in sales sure but not in quality.

DrDoomer45d ago

Not saying those games are bad. I'm saying Persona is just that good.

Tapani35d ago

I enjoy the SMT core series much more vs the Persona series. I like how it is much darker and more hardcore as an RPG. I've played all of them through and they never disappoint.

Stopac45d ago

That's a bad take.

SMT had a niche following. So did persona. They redid persona starting with three to reach an wider audience. Nothing happened with the original SMT and have stayed the way they were. If they were to revamp that main series you could get what happened with soul hackers lol. You want that?

Barlos44d ago (Edited 44d ago )

A spin off is a spin off. Why would they ruin the original? If you like the original then that's great, you can carry on enjoying it. If the spin off is crap it has no impact on the original at all.

I love Persona 5 and P5R but I have zero interest in Strikers or Tactica but even if I played them and didn't like them they wouldn't ruin the original games for me.

Same goes for if you like the SMT games but don't like Persona, why would that suddenly make SMT bad?
