The situation surrounding Cooking Mama: Cookstar just keeps getting stranger. After rumors circulated that the game was mining cryptocurrency – which was swiftly denied by the developer – a member of the team has come forward to further clarify what is actually happening.
Hardcore Gamer: "There’s only one thing better than playing games and that’s collecting every piece of merchandise tied to them. There was nothing like flipping through your favorite gaming magazine and seeing a profile of a limited edition collectible or discovering a piece of memorabilia from a beloved game in an overlooked corner of a shop and it’s a feeling we strive to replicate every month as we look through our own collector’s cabinet and dig out items new and old to show the world."
It's fresh out the oven, but is it still half-baked? Random Nintendo takes on the elusive Cooking Mama: Cookstar to see if it's worth all the hullabaloo. Plus, impressions of Super Mario Maker 2's big Worlds update, Animal Crossing's April update, and more!
COG writes: Who’s ready to get back in the kitchen? Cooking Mama has returned but does she whip up a 5-star masterpiece, or burn the house to the ground? Read on to find out!
This makes more sense. The crypto currency rumor was random as hell. It feels like what was once reserved for the 1st of April has now become a weekly thing. People don't even wait for April now as that Flipnote for Switch rumor ended up as a long winded April Fools thing in the end that started late March.
Suddenly, a game I never had any interest in gets interesting--but not for the right reasons.
