Claire's original design looked very odd - straight out of an 80s/90s anime OVA. And Leon starting his first day on the job in police uniform made no sense. So I get the design changes there.
But Jill's design change looks worse in my opinion. My issue is that her outfit is far too generic. Straight out of an edgy zombie flick. Luckily, her original outfit is included as pre-order DLC. Some say it's out of place in a zombie apocalypse but considering that Jill had no idea the city she's in was going to hell, it makes sense for her to be in a casual outfit.
