Screen Rant Writes: Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot has a Season Pass adding a selection of new story content, and there are a few lingering problems the DLC needs to fix.
If you’re a fan of Bandai Namco video games, Humble Store is running a sale that you’ll want to check out.
Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot has set a standard for anime action RPGs, and GotGame thinks there are plenty of other franchises that deserve the same treatment.
For me, it's the Naruto series. Of any anime I have seen, I think this one has the most potential to be an open world rpg. It's not very original and I know we have a lot of Naruto games, but I think Naruto's world is one of the most fun and interesting. I don't really know why we have only had fighting games for Naruto, it always felt like a series that could easily be a open world action game.
I actually think there is more reasons for creating a Naruto open world rpg than DBZ. Naruto's world is a lot more interesting and fleshed out than Dragon Ball's is.
One Piece still haven’t got a good game after all these years. I hope this anime is next for the DBZ developer.
I can imagine Hunter X Hunter being open world RPG. Starting from 1st arc to Hunter Election arc, with many side missions in it. I doubt they can put all of that in one single game.
I agree with Sailor Moon. I kept saying that a sailor Moon series like this would be great when I was playing it. Also Fairy Tail would be perfect to.
Screen Rant Writes: Dragon Ball games need to stop rehashing the same stories.
I think Dragon Ball needs a spin-off. One without Goku or the usual characters, or about dragged out fights and over the top baddies. More adventure than action, with new characters, and of course the dragon balls. I don't think there's anything that says it has to be ONLY about Goku.
I would love a game with fresh characters done in the style of the original dragon ball and not the Z type where its power levels and energy blasts and that's about it. techniques and martial art types and such would be awesome to see again.
Out of all this, I only agree with adding DB Super sagas. The rest, no.
What I would like to had in DBZ Kakarot is one huge open world where I can go anywhere anytime. Visiting places that were in the show but didn't appear in the campaign of the game. Gokus instant transmition would have been amazing for fast travel as well as the world woud have been huge.
Also, more and different things to do in the world and more enemy variety.
This game is the closest to a DB game I always dreamed of. So hopefully we get a second one on next gen consoles with the changes I like to see. We will see.
I could do less without characters spouting the same lines over and over again when a random enemy appears.
I’d like for the ki blasts outside of fights to be third person.
I didn't even know there was dlc planned until now. There's huge potential in dlc for this game with countless movie dlc they can add and substories. I don't usually buy dlc but I will admit i would for this game.
This game turned out to be exactly what I thought it would be after seeing those gameplay reveals a few months back. It's not much of an rpg, it's like a Xenoverse game with all of the fun parts of the fighting taken out of it. Slapping the words action rpg and adding a few rpg elements doesn't make it an rpg.
It also has terrible flying controls, same goes with walking around the world. The repetitive talking, annoying loading screens, repetitive fights, poor side quests which are pretty much pointless when it comes to progressing in the game, and certain scenes from the series not being included makes this a lazy attempt at making a proper DBZ rpg game.
Any kind of DLC can't save it from mediocrity now. As much as I love DBZ, this is one of the weakest and most overrated DBZ games yet. If this was any other action rpg, it wouldn't be rated highly at all.
An original story.
How about a story expanding on Android 21?
Anything besides the always DBZ frieza Saga
