Whatever happened to the C&C remake collection that was announced?

...saying that, with the state of the latest Warcraft Reforged and Commandos 2 HD. I don’t think I’m interested anymore. Which is a shame.

It's still in the works, apparently -- EA recently posted an update about its progress to the Command & Conquer subreddit, which for whatever reason seems to be their may way of getting information out.

Also, it looks like EA has been bringing in the original voice actors to re-record some lines, so... it seems like there's *Someone* at EA that actually has some love for the originals.

It’s not too surprising, most of there games haven’t been great or are abandoned right after launch. Grey Goo had potential but a bit sluggish to play for a game designed with a competitive scene in mind and 8 bit armies was misleading, they advertised more factions when it released but ended up just making new separate games instead.

I remember playing Comand & Conquer back in 95/96, on the old Westwood servers. Good times!

“ Before that, they released 8-Bit Armies, 8-Bit Hordes, and 8-Bit Invaders — all of which play like Command & Conquer with the serial numbers filed off.”

Has anyone played these games? It looks like they’re well-received on Steam but I’ve never heard anyone talk about them.

I played the first one, it was basically a modernized Red Alert 1 gameplay wise with great music, campaign was basically skirmish though with a star system.

I’m a huge fan of Westwood and the impact they’ve had in the Gaming industry, they’re truly legendary making the best RTS (Real time strategy) games.
