Persona 5 was my favorite game of 2017, and I cannot wait to dive back into the game and see what kind of new enhancements that were added.

Oof. This (a 100+ hr game) and now ff7r and cyberpunk are so damn close to eachother. Damn it square...

monkey6021602d ago

Cyberpunk getting delayed now might clear that calendar for you a bit

Allied1602d ago (Edited 1602d ago )

From what people have said that played the Japanese version there's not really much in it to justify the $60.00 price tag plus the downside they said the new character doesn't become playable until way late in the game. Which kinda sucks in my opinion this is coming from a guy who enjoyed the Original so much he played through the game 4 times.

shammgod1601d ago

Agreed. I read more than one review that confirmed this.

I was never able to complete it the first time around and then was waiting for royal to come out. Now I think I will just continue on my old save.

Elda1601d ago

Because of that I'm definitely buying at a discount.

I just don’t get why they couldn’t just let people that already own the original a way to download the new content and just do a new game+ on it

Tross1601d ago (Edited 1601d ago )

Yeah, I wasn't huge on this practice back on the PS2, but at least DLC wasn't an option then. Now that DLC has been a thing for a very long time, there's really no reason why owners of the original game shouldn't be able to just pay a much smaller price to just download the extra content.

Barlos23d ago

Same here. Not only is it one of my favourite RPGs, it's also one of my favourite ever games. I keep coming back to it time and time again.

Chard23d ago

What’s so good about it?

DustMan23d ago

Why not read one of the reviews and find out?

CrimsonWing6923d ago

4.8? This game is literally one of the best modern JRPGs. I’d give it the perfect score.

Persona: How A Spin-Off Game Series Can Ruin The Original

"Newer Persona games dive into the simulation of a high school student at the cost of RPG mechanics compared to Shin Megami Tensei." - Najam from eXputer.

DrDoomer45d ago

Persona (particularly 3,4 and 5) is the best thing to come out of Atlus, by far. The only way other games get ruined is by paling in comparison.

gold_drake45d ago (Edited 45d ago )

thats a hot take if ive ever seen one.

atlus aint just persona.

they have plenty of games that are fantastic that are not persona.

maybe in sales sure but not in quality.

DrDoomer45d ago

Not saying those games are bad. I'm saying Persona is just that good.

Tapani35d ago

I enjoy the SMT core series much more vs the Persona series. I like how it is much darker and more hardcore as an RPG. I've played all of them through and they never disappoint.

Stopac45d ago

That's a bad take.

SMT had a niche following. So did persona. They redid persona starting with three to reach an wider audience. Nothing happened with the original SMT and have stayed the way they were. If they were to revamp that main series you could get what happened with soul hackers lol. You want that?

Barlos44d ago (Edited 44d ago )

A spin off is a spin off. Why would they ruin the original? If you like the original then that's great, you can carry on enjoying it. If the spin off is crap it has no impact on the original at all.

I love Persona 5 and P5R but I have zero interest in Strikers or Tactica but even if I played them and didn't like them they wouldn't ruin the original games for me.

Same goes for if you like the SMT games but don't like Persona, why would that suddenly make SMT bad?
