GTA V is now available in Xbox GamePass

Xbox has just announced on their Twitter that GTA V is now available to download in the Xbox GamePass.

Automatic791590d ago

Great announcement. GTA IV servers are going to be full.

Thunder_G0d_Bane1590d ago

This just seems so late to be making it some kind of huge announcement, anyone who wanted to play it already has it. People forget it's a last gen game.

Tell me Red dead 2 is on gamepass then we can talk business.

Obscure_Observer1590d ago

@Thunder_G0d_Bane

"People forget it's a last gen game."

And it sold more copies this generation than any AAA exclusive from any company!

So yes, its huge news!

Game still charts in top 10 every month. And is at this point one of the most profitable game of all time.

gangsta_red1590d ago

A last gen game that's still being supported by the devs with GTA Online.

thesoftware7301590d ago

Are you ok?

No one made a huge announcement...it was announced over twitter lol. You make it seem like they held a stage show.

How could you possibly put down such a huge profile game, no matter which gen, if its being launched on a new service?

Zeref1590d ago

Lol how is it a huge announcement? They announced it in a tweet 😂😂

mikeslemonade1590d ago

Actually this is good for me. New content, I have a PC that can max this game now(this game I couldn’t even max out when I had to 970s SLI), and I also lost my game ownership somehow.

itsmebryan1590d ago

I haven't played it. Now I might give it a try.

Profchaos1590d ago (Edited 1590d ago )

It's actually not a last gen game it's a current gen game that was cross generation. Same as assassin's Creed IV was.

The game does enough to distinguish itself between the gen 7 and gen 8 version things like actual foliage and better frame rate more traffic improved graphics new animations and the entire game can be played in first person mode making it feel like a new game etc.

Go back and play the last gen iteration and you'll see it struggle to maintain 30frames and the environment looking incredibly bare don't get me wrong it's a technical Marvel that rockstar got something of that magnitude to run on last gen hardware but obvious sacrifices were made

indysurfn1590d ago

@mikeslemonade good news with gamepass you have have game owership. So it is potential that you can pay for one game twice and not have game ownership to it still.

SierraGuy1590d ago (Edited 1590d ago )

I know I played this 20 yrs ago.

Should call it "retrogamepass".

YodaCracker1590d ago

“anyone who wanted to play it already has it.”

It sold over 15 million copies in the last year. So no.

agnosticgamer1589d ago (Edited 1589d ago )

They announced it on twitter. That is not a huge announcement. It only expands games playable on GamePass which is never a bad thing right? And I highly doubt anyone who has wanted to play it already played it. That is generally never the case and it opened it up for millions of gamers who may have never played it before but would have liked to. I mean who wouldn't want an AAA game on a subscription service as a choice?

Game Pass is on fire. Keep it coming.

Obscure_Observer1590d ago

Even more big publishers are supporting Gamepass specially on consoles. Come next gen we´re in for a treat! :)

chiefJohn1171589d ago (Edited 1589d ago )

With BC and gamepass next gen is coming out swinging. Next gen will be the first time since PS2 I buy day 1. You instantly have a boatload (more like yachtload lol) of games day 1

Kavorklestein1589d ago

Imagine if GTA V came out on Game pass when Red Dead 2 was revealed?
Still, this is awesome for those who don't have the game or haven't played it yet etc..

Baza1589d ago (Edited 1589d ago )

Yea this is great if you’re one of the 5 people that haven’t bought the game already

Kumakai1590d ago

Game pass is killing it. I’m surprised top 3rd party games that are still relevant and doing well in the market pop up in game pass regularly. I was expecting it to be a stroll down a graveyard of old irrelevant games and a few ms first party. I was wrong.

Monkeysmoke1589d ago

GTAV was on PSnow first so what's the whole fuss about?

bouzebbal1589d ago (Edited 1589d ago )

blind fanboyism...at its best.
cool it's finally available

More interested in money than giving fans what they want. Such a shame

CrimsonWing6918d ago

With the amount of money they generated, I just don’t understand the scrubbing of this. It would’ve been fantastic for fans.

Profchaos18d ago

I really want to know who drove the decision to focus on multiplayer was it Rockstar or take two.

Because when online started taking off many of the studio leads began having falling outs and leading including a founder

Demetrius18d ago

Ikr mfs that greedy it's ridiculous

andy8518d ago

This makes me sad. Trevor was one of my favourite characters in gaming

Demetrius18d ago

One of the reason I believe once gta 6 release, most of us thoroughly play it, enjoy the world they crafted then after that no offline support, no dlc at all
