GSC Game World announced today that they’re using Unreal Engine to develop STALKER 2. In the announcement tweet, the developer explained that they’ve chosen Unreal because they feel it’s a good fit for they kind of game they’re trying to make and also because it will make it easier to support mods.
The official fact sheet of STALKER 2 reveals that the game has been delayed again and will launch in Q1 2024 for PC and Xbox Series S|X.
Environments so gorgeous you'll forget you're in a supernatural hellscape.
Great that they’re continuing to release updates in spite their nation’s plight. Fingers crossed for a 2023 release.
In memory of fallen heroes. The new trailer of S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl is here.
All I know is on PC the stuttering from Unreal Engine 4 better not be present in this game using UE5, or I will pass on this game. I wouldn't take it for free, if issues like that are present.
Big respect to the devs, this game looks great overall. Still hoping they will improve the graphics because it is still looks current gen.
2023 is surprising actually. The last I heard it got delayed indefinitely.
Hopefully it still makes it out this year.
Gunna keep an eye on dis 1
I so am looking forward to this game.
I do wonder if it might be smart to remake the original versions and bring them out on PS5 and Xbox Series X, so GSC can turn a quick profit. I personally want to see the sequel more, but if they can contract a remake out to someone else, I can see that being a benefit for the company and make it so S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 doesn't get delayed for the remake.
Mmmmm, Unreal usually doesn't handle open words very well without some heavy alterations to the engine, and i usually like STALKER's proprietary engine. Hopefully it works out and isn't a setback. Lookin forward to seeing more though!
I need more STALKER in my life.
Stalker is a series that always deserved more commercial success. They always planned to do ports to console but for some reason it never happened. Cool games though that still hold up pretty well
