lelo2play1611d ago (Edited 1611d ago )

For me it's Wasteland 3 ... and similar games (Gears Tactics, Encased, Baldur's Gate 3, Desperados 3, Empire of Sin, etc).

... also interested in Cyberpunk 2077, Biomutant and Ori 2.

Meanwhile Netflix is butchering the witcher series with it’s inaccurate music and the use of black actors In it’s latest show.

Eamon1612d ago

Putting aside the awkwardly-placed token ethnic actors, the story of episode 1 which I just watched was a complete shambles. If you're new to The Witcher, without reading the books, you would have no clue what's going on.

Nodoze1612d ago

Getting very very tired of the ridiculous 'woke' BS. Watching a show, or going to a movie used to be about immersing yourself in a great story. Now it is about making sure to represent every token and ridiculous group so that you don't get blacklisted...maybe that term is racist now too!?

Netflix is becoming a bit too PC BS for me of late. They injected it into Stranger Things (have to have a gay character), and now it is polluting other shows as well.

Zarock1612d ago

It’s not just that they use inaccurate modern terms like “reverse psychology” “Snow man” which doesn’t fit the whole witcher timeline universe.

2pacalypsenow1612d ago

They're going to reboot Braveheart, starting Anthony Mackie.

Sophisticated_Chap1611d ago

Hey, great idea....go watch the new Star Wars movie :D That will ease your mind lol

Let's be honest, if not for the blatant double standard, no one would give a damn.

Eamon1612d ago (Edited 1612d ago )

Did you see the trailer for Christopher Nolan's Tenet?

It's starring John David Washington who also starred in BlackKklansman - an excellent film by Spike Lee.

Do you think Christopher Nolan chose JDW because he's black? Or because he's a great actor and most likely fit the role Nolan envisioned?

The problem that's so glaringly obvious in Netflix's The Witcher is that a lot of the cast were cast purely for diversity's sake. I'm not against actions that increase diversity and inclusivity in general, but I am against anything that tramples over merit and talent.

Most of the characters in this show are completely miscast and not just the ethnic actors. Even many of the white cast just aren't doing a good enough job to warrant any praise. The only actor that is actually doing a fabulous job is Henry Cavill himself as Geralt of Rivia.

Sono4211611d ago

And just like that @jdaboss is a part of the problem.

Literally no one is saying what you are claiming, you are completely misrepresenting their arguments and ONLY adding ignorance to the discussion, good job.

CaptainObvious8781611d ago (Edited 1611d ago )

@jdaboss

How many fking times are people like you going to deliberately strawman everyone's argument against ham fisted diversity?

You know damn well no one is afraid of black actors, but keep up the misrepresentation.

bluefox7551612d ago (Edited 1612d ago )

Shush! Diversity is our strength! Don't you know?? Immersion breaking nonsense be damned!

jdaboss1610d ago

reeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee e... go cry in a bowl of milk about it.

william_cade1611d ago

Skin color doesn't matter in any walk of life. The real question is how good is the show?

WelkinCole1611d ago (Edited 1611d ago )

If you read the books like I did it will be easy and fun. Had to explain to people that didn't the timeline

I give it a 7.5 out of 10. Could have been better but not bad either.

FRA851611d ago

It was pretty bad at times. The way the time leaps were managed was confusing and unnecessary. Think someone will re-edit it. Writing could have been better too, story was always
going to be changed, but I watched it all and would watch season 2.

King_Noctis1611d ago

That is really disappointing. I was looking forward to this one so much.

mrmikew20181611d ago

So you have a problem with black actors?

jdaboss1610d ago

me? nah.. Im actually enjoying the show and laughing at the "muh white genocide" peeps in this forum.. hilarious actually.

Dam that is one shiny butt

telekineticmantis1612d ago

You have to put HellBlade 2 on that list. Graphical embellishment or not right now ot is the definition of Next Gen for most Gamers.

2pacalypsenow1612d ago (Edited 1612d ago )

I don't think HellBlade 2 was confirmed for a 2020 release, and since they only showed a teaser trailer, it most likely wont be out by next year.

neutralgamer19921611d ago

It's not confirmed for 2020. This list is for 2020 games

Cyberpunk 2077 Director On 95% Positive Steam Rating: "Never Thought I'd See It"

Cyberpunk 2077 has come a long way from being one of the worst games on the planet to being one of the best ones.

DustMan4d ago

I shelved it after a few hours in game at launch, glad I didn't refund it. One of the few games I've actually completed in the last year, and after finishing the campaigns I wanted to just jump back in from the start. They pulled a No Mans Sky and finished one of the best FPS in the last few years.

Games That Were Bad on Release, But Are Now Great

BLG writes, "Some of the most popular games have had a rough start, with some of them being downright unplayable.

Despite that, developers have managed to turn it around for them and make their game worth playing. Here are some games that had a rough start but were pretty great."

Good list..hoped to see Street Fighter 5 there..and it is.

Vits16d ago (Edited 16d ago )

Sea of Thieves... I'm not disagreeing that the game has improved in terms of content. But I feel that the most significant change between now and its release is actually the public perception. Nowadays, most people are aware that the game is a multiplayer PvP-focused experience first and foremost, and not "Black Flag made by Rare". Consequently, people dismissing the whole experience because the single-player aspect is lacking or the story is plain are much less common.

darthv7216d ago

Several years ago, i submitted an idea to Rare that would change up the mechanics of battling opponents in the game. whereby if you died in battle, you turned into a skeleton warrior and had to fight your way back to the land of the living. It was an interesting twist on respawning and would allow the player to experience both sides of a battle.

I keep hoping to see something like that get added to the game.

Kaii16d ago

They consider FO 76 & ME Andromeda to be great now 🤭

anast16d ago

Every game in the last 2 decades...

INMATEofARKHAM15d ago

It's sad that this quick retort is more often than not true... The industry's acceptance of release and patch has gone too far.

gunnerforlife15d ago

Days gone! By the end of the game I couldn't drop it down! I went around so many hours killing zombies! It was addictive by the end.

S2Killinit15d ago

That game was just plain good game. It didnt improve, it was just good.

gunnerforlife15d ago

I don't know, I got it abit late, and struggled for a few days, and then all of a sudden it just got good!!

Well they are using unreal engine now thanks to there work culture and horrific job on making cyberpunk so for the future no impact.

But it will be interesting to see what mods will be made

https://rebel-wolves.com/

just_looken27d ago

7 disagrees shows how many look at one dlc that had a rip off fight from ghost in the shell and goes wow what a goat team i love cdpr while ignoring that they only made 2 games that were good witcher 2/3 in 20yrs.

But its a new world we want a criminal that support's legal murder as president/support shoplifting love toxic work environments and have a mass casualty event every other day.

GhostMirror27d ago

I’ll admit I didn’t play it at launch, but Cyberpunk 2077 is a really good game now.

And who the hell knows what you’re even going on about in your second paragraph here.

EazyC28d ago

Wait a min...I swear to god CP2077's source code got leaked before. CDPR needs to stop using "password123" for all their accounts 😅

just_looken27d ago

Na its hundreds ex employees no doubt just getting there revenge.

Profchaos27d ago (Edited 27d ago )

This is the same leak the threat actors have been trying to sell the source code after cd project didn't pay the ransom.

They didn't manage to sell the source code to any company largely because it would be unethical for say EA to buy it so the threat actors failed to find a buyer.

After they failed to make any money they went through with their threat of simply giving it away.
