Gears 5 Operation 2: Free For All brings more characters, maps and modes

Gears 5 Operation 2 is scheduled to begin on December 11 and is bringing plentiful new cosmetics and other items for players to unlock, as well as new maps, modes and more.

Nice update. However, Coalition is still holding back characters due to the hero mechanics in arcade, escape and horde. As a mainly competitive player I hate the fact that classic COG and Locust characters haven’t been added yet.

They’re holding back content to drip feed it since it’s a F2P title. The grind and micro transactions is still ugly.

What? You haven't played Gears of War 5, Microtransactions is only for cosmetics.

Have you played The Last of Us, Pay to Win Microtransactions? Weapons are locked behind a paywall lol

You can't complain about microtransactions when:

1. The game is pretty much free and this is a AAA title.
2. Are cosmetics only, no pay to win

They need to make their money back somehow you cant fault them for a somewhat barebones release. People look at Gears 4 to compare to but Gears 4 has been out for a while and they had all the time to fix and tweak and add characters, etc. Perspective..

I’ve played gears 5 and I never said the mtx are p2w. Nothing I said was wrong, the community is shrinking and the content they give us is nice but it isn’t saying much.
And sure I can complain, from someone who’s played all previous gears and would prefer a season pass along with an actual full game over this crap rod has given us. Shame
