The Final Fantasy series is coming to Xbox Game Pass

Oh wow. That’s pretty good. I always secretly thought that if Square Enix wanted to get into the streaming game their ace in the whole could be Final Fantasy. Guess my $1 Game Pass sub was enough. Microsoft is taking this pretty seriously it’s beyond just a bunch of indy games. Though those are still there too.

If you don’t own those titles in one form or another by now you won’t suddenly care now. The real take away is the Yakuza titles are dipping their toes in Xbox waters. Best beat em up series since streets of rage and Shenmue. Xbox gamers, support the hell out of them. It’s one of my favorite PlayStation series and you guys don’t want to squander this opportunity like Nintendo gamers did.

I like the games a lot too and am glad that they're coming West. I've been collecting them as they release on the PS4. Quick question though, how would someone having GamePass be supporting them? Buying them would be supporting them wouldn't it? MS paid for them to be on GP

Just playing the game supports the publisher now. They take all the statistics of how many gamers are playing and how much time they spend playing the game And give that info to the stockholders that finance the production. Microsoft foots the bill and pays them handsomely I would believe for the time on the service and that benefits us as a fantastic value, and benefits the publisher because it gives the stockholders a reason to keep pouring money into their company which helps them grow. It must be costing Microsoft a fortune but I'm pretty sure they have oodles and oodles of cash.

Easy answer. It’s on games pass because Microsoft paid to have that game included. If nobody is playing Yakuza with their membership, Sega got paid for nothing. Nobody on the system is interested. What do you think Microsoft will do when it’s time to make deals for the next selection of games? Think Yakuza will be on the list if statistics were poor for the others? By support, I’m saying give it a try, if you like it go through the series. Tell people about it. Every game on game pass that isn’t made by Microsoft is on a trial.

There’s nearly as Final Fantasy games playable on Xbox One than on PlayStation 4

Only difference is PS4 has FFXIV, Dissidia NT, & FF Crystal Chronicles HD while XO has FFXIII trilogy

The big two games missing from this list are Final Fantasy’s two MMOs, Final Fantasy XI and XIV. However, speaking to members of the press at X019 earlier today, Microsoft’s gaming chief, Phil Spencer, said that the company plans to bring Final Fantasy 14 to the service at a later date. “I wanted you to know, rest assured that we will be bringing that game to Xbox,” said Spencer.

Sony has no such contract with Square Enix.

Square Enix can release their games anywhere they want and have done so very aggressively as of late

Late to the party mate - how about I don't? The last I want to be seen to be supporting a subscription service for gaming.

It's ready hard enough for bricks and mortar stores to compete with Digital Downloads.

Oh wow all these new games added to gamepass, there is not enough time. I usually just start 3 new games and play them only until I beat them but I think I'm a start playing all games at once again. The only thing about doing that was that I wasn't finishing any games, I was only getting far in them lol.

No more side missions or exploring for me(that's going to be hard) I'm just going to try and finish games by doing the main story only.
