It's like ant bully meets honey I shunk the kids. could be fun.

naruga1633d ago

the movie "Honey, I Shrunk the Kids" the game ...literally a copy paste

rainslacker1633d ago

I was going to post that title, but everyone is already saying it.

Not that that's bad, but walking around trying to survive in a big open world. Something about that sounds strangely familiar, and I don't recall it being positively familiar.

NecrumOddBoy1633d ago (Edited 1633d ago )

SHORTNITE

The concept of a tiny world is awesome but this looks like a bad game ruining a good dev team. I hope MS isn't going to turn Obsidian into garbage like they did to Rare. 😔

Christopher1633d ago

Literally a copy paste of a movie that didn't have anything to do with collecting resources, building forts, combating the wild at a different level, and the like.

Literally, a copy...

Since Honey, I Shrunk the Kids exist, there can never be a game about small humans doing things. Sad times.

Obscure_Observer1633d ago

@rainslacker

"Not that that's bad, but walking around trying to survive in a big open world. Something about that sounds strangely familiar, and I don't recall it being positively familiar."

Because it´s Microsoft.

rainslacker1633d ago (Edited 1633d ago )

@Obscure

I was actually referring to another recently released game which got criticism for just being someone walking around, with not much else in the game play department. Won't name the title, but it should be pretty obvious unless you've been on vacation the past couple weeks.

@Christopher

"Since Honey, I Shrunk the Kids exist, there can never be a game about small humans doing things."

Now you're starting to understand. :-P

Seriously though. I have no problem with the concept. Just some of the shots looked ripped straight out of the movie itself. As soon as you realized the catch, the first thing that popped into my head was that movie.

Could be but the best Obsidian games were always amazing because of the great single player driven focus they had

Doing co-op / multiplayer is a little disappointing.

There's a reason why the Outer Worlds is fantastic

neutralgamer19921633d ago

Fox

Why are you surprised? Did you not see NT go from single player to arena fighting game

Ms wants AA games with few AAA sprinkled in. Their focus is not all on quality but being on gamepass. Even Xbox fans praise sea of thieves and say doesn't matter how it launched its better now. Sony and Nintendo are about quality while Ms cares about quantity

-Foxtrot1633d ago

Oh yeah I forgot about Ninja Theory...

Although they did say it was in development before Microsoft however we don't really know if it was just an idea floating around near pre production and Microsoft give it the green light as soon as they were in talks to buy them, they most likely were asked what they had on the table when they sat down for talks.

Spurg1633d ago

It was in development before Ms bought them. It was clearly stated by them and this is a small team similar size as The outer worlds team.

mandingo1633d ago

ah neutralgamer. Seems like an imposter name. Obviously, NT was making bleeding edge before MS acquired them and NT is working on a SP game. MS barely acquired obsidian. Obsidian wanted to make this game. Neutralgamer. More like sonygamer.

UnholyLight1632d ago

@neutralgamer1992 that has to be the dumbest statement I've ever read on N4G and that says a lot.

From outer worlds to shrunken worlds. Adventures in space to adventures in your own back yard.... what's not to like?

Christopher1633d ago

Outer Worlds AND this.

I guess we just want them to pump out the same type of game over and over, not be able to explore more?

The Wood1633d ago (Edited 1633d ago )

From kill zone to horizon . . . . . . Sometimes change is healthy

CaptainHenry9161633d ago (Edited 1633d ago )

@The Wood
"From kill zone to horizon . . . . . . Sometimes change is healthy"

Why did you mention a ps4 exclusive in a Xbox article?

darthv721633d ago

Captain... do you not understand the reference? Before HZD what was GG mostly making?????

You started it by comparing one project to a different one. Is responses only restricted to xbox examples or can anyone chime in?

The Wood1632d ago (Edited 1632d ago )

Cheers Darth.

Well done captain. . You're net insecurities really shimmer.

I'm implying good can come of change

Takes me back to the Toy Story, Army Men PS1 games. This doesn't look very interesting to me beyond hat though.

Livingthedream1632d ago

Looks fantastic, the downvotes are because we'll we're on this site. But if this was presented on Sony's console it would be the 2nd coming lol

monkey6021633d ago

I think this is a neat idea. I'll give it a go!

anonymousfan1633d ago

It looks cool but it also looks like fortnite... With a "small" twist. Did they announce if this was gonna be retail or FTP?

KillBill1633d ago

Retail with an inclusion at launch obviously on Game Pass. It is NOT a Battle royal game.

ElementX1633d ago

I think it looks kinda cool. People say MS only releases Halo, Gears, and Forza but when they show something different people don't like it.

--bienio--1633d ago

At the moment looks like all games are for kids not adults which’s not good.

ElementX1633d ago (Edited 1633d ago )

There are plenty of adults who play Mario and Pokemon, those are designed for children. Millions of adults read Harry Potter and go see animated films. NES and Sega games were basically all for kids. Even the violent games looked cartoony with pixelated blood and gore. Adults still go back and play those games.

--bienio--1633d ago

Of course but there is no WOW I want this game play NOW it’s all for kids ,boring ...

Traecy1633d ago

AAA different is more like it.

1633d ago
ElementX1633d ago (Edited 1633d ago )

@imgumby I know, right? Everybody was so excited for Medievil, Spyro and Crash remakes but I guess anything MS releases automatically sucks because it's cartoony
