Banned? Wtf you're talking about?

sinjonezp1663d ago (Edited 1663d ago )

no click bait. Just saying the story is..quote the article "Clean House is where the controversy first started. Killing female civilians, in self defence I might add. It’s harsh but it is done tastefully." (I think the author spelled defense incorrectly) but mmmmm...tastefully??..Well.... we live in an age now where everyone gets mad and upset at every single little thing, they will likely try and have it banned. The dawn of the modern internet has created monsters.

tombfan1663d ago

Just here to say ... Sinjonezp's comment is gold. I find it also true that we have become whiney bitc** <3

xTonyMontana1663d ago

Defense is the American version of Defence. Both are acceptable.

sinjonezp1663d ago

Also guys, why dislike the comment? Is it not true that we are in a state where every little thing is criticized? Even a minority group can be just as vocal as a large group. The internet gives EVERYONE the ability to have an opinion? And with that opinion comes no recourse unless you are a noteworthy individual. I love the fact that "we" have the voice and the social aspect of the internet has provided us with a great platform. However, everything is under a quantum scope. Look at the NBA. One man said one thing and an entire country is against the NBA because of it. Its such a slippery slope and with gaming, it is viewed significantly different. We watch movies and TV shows all the time with graphic violence non stop. Was watching the new Watchmen show on HBO and cop gets shot up by an automatic weapon, a man is hung from a tree. But let there be any kind of content in gaming, its an uproar. Those individuals who seem to think graphic violence in video games is "too much" are simply stuck in a mindset SET by the fear for children in the early 90's. A game like COD is clearly for a mature audience and upon starting the game. The game reminds you as soon as you click on start that this contains graphic violence do you wish to continue? "Return to home screen or continue" Its on the box, its in the game, but that demographic will still cry and say our kids are this and that. We could go on and on about this topic but the bottom line is ever since certain communities have been speaking out continuously and the Rabat trolls, haters, conservatives, liberal fanatics, etc etc will continue to hijack the narrative and create fear leading to games like this possibly getting Banned. I myself have been enjoying the first few missions, i like the fact that you can die within two shots; requiring the player to utilize the lean technique and the story is good so far. As much as i enjoy this game, as well as other gamers.....it will be just as much if not more hating this type of content. I've been gaming since the late 80s with Contra and Tecmo Bowl..So this is just words from a real game head.

Spread love not fear

Kumakai1663d ago

It’s not click bait, they are just saying that the campaign is pretty controversial like the “no Russian” mission in mw2. Its also super realistic so they are just making the point that it’s pretty heavy and divisive.

kparks1663d ago (Edited 1663d ago )

A 4.9/5 I'm a huge duty fan but you gotta be shittin me no Fn way lol

Christopher1663d ago

sinjonezp: "Spread love not fear."

Also sinjonezp: "The dawn of the modern internet has created monsters."

sprinterboy1663d ago

Obviously with a name like sausage roll.

yoshatabi1663d ago

Imagine getting your feelings hurt because of that scene. Lmao. People are too damn sensitive nowadays

Android1662d ago

Sadly how the world is going he could have a point.

Sinjonezp

I think it's more than the internet that's created monsters. Check out Jordan Peterson on post modernism and on Neo marxism. Universities and our education systems are to blame for this mass hysteria of being offended by even the air we breathe.

Well it was written in Australia...

Kumakai1663d ago

I don’t think it will get banned but I think they are referring to how controversial and realistic the campaign is.

It's a shame that what is probably a good game is owned by Activision.

Also, don't waste your time reading the article - it's just a rushed playthrough of the campaign. You can't consider it a review.

"Call of Duty: Modern Warfare (2019) is possibly the greatest first-person shooter game currently available. It currently is the best game released so far this year which makes it a strong contender for Game of The Year."

Loses all credibility right there.
Not saying its a bad game, but when you use "greatest FPS available" "currently best game released this year", sorry you lose credibility.

OldGuyStillGaming1663d ago

I played it for about 5 hours of the campaign and it really is amazing.
The best COD in many years, quite possibly the best one yet.
The multiplayer was also fun but I only tried out a few maps.

kparks1663d ago

Yeah but a 4.9/5 lol get outta here!

OnlyThoseOnTheFence1663d ago

Good or not the game still suffers from a whole lot of "more of the same". I liked Infinite Warfare better. Great universe, great characters, creative weapons, and no bro-beards or handlebar mustaches. This is just another Generic Shooter 2019

Kavorklestein1662d ago (Edited 1662d ago )

First COD I bought since Advanced Warfare. I skipped Ghosts, the story seemed stupid on that game when my friend was playing it.

This game, however...
Let me just say sure, perhaps you've played shooters before, but this game raised the bar of Military/Tactical presentation and blew the door off the hinges. I have not been more excited to pay full price for A COD game Since the Days of MW2, WAW, BLOPS 2 and MW3. This is the big one, and as far as I'm concerned it deserves all the hype it has gained, AND THEN SOME.

The sound design and actual tech going behind the scenes must have been a btich to develop.
Infinity Ward has Raised the bar and is now the Yardstick I will probably put all other shooters up against. To think they did this all, and somehow managed to keep it running sooooooooo smoothly.

Seriously... Wow.
To all the people who don't think it has GOTY chops, or that it's not supposed to be mentioned in those conversations, It IS that damn good.

Benficaman1663d ago

Why? Just because its call of duty?

1663d ago
Dom_Estos1663d ago

It's like this with everything now. People going well over the top about something just because it has a bit of violence or controversy in it, harkening back to "the good old days". Just look at the latest Joker film as a perfect example. Mediocre shite that's being blown up to be the second coming.

iplay1up21663d ago

I just bought it. It was on a display at target and nearly empty. I just happened to see it and had to buy it. The new game engine they built from the ground up for this is amazing. My question is, how do you know this isn't one of the best FPS ever made? They don't say it is, they say POSSIBLY BE.

Gears 5 had a fantastic campaign, and the graphics were over the top! This looks like it will be even better than that. My X1X is getting a ton of use. This Call of Duty is the first one in years I have been excited to play, and have purchased in 5 years! The install is taking forever. 133.67 Gigs!

Kavorklestein1662d ago (Edited 1662d ago )

So like I see what you are saying.
I for one, think the setting, action, Story overalll, gunplay bis

Why MW 2019 is still the best looking Call of Duty to date

MW 2019 is five years old at this point and on previous gen hardware, but it is still the best looking Call of Duty game to date.

MW was an excellent videogame. They messed up Spec Ops big time, but aside from this it was a huge step in the right direction initially. Most notably, at launch it seemed to come from a very cohesive creative vision that was felt across gameplay, to story to art style/visual direction. It was also very notably written by prominent ex-Naughty Dog guys that quit almost immediately before release.

That COMPLETELY dissolved through post-launch content and the full pivot to a "cross-mode" narrative that completely obliterated the cohesion in overall story direction. Warzone then "became" the new face of Call of Duty and the franchise completely removed itself from anything remotely creatively "good". It is a pure money machine, so I kinda get why they're doing it....but I personally completely lost interest.

I would love to see Infinity Ward move off CoD and get to make their own product with full control. They clearly have some massive talent in their ranks but it's perverted by Activision's corporate interests.

I really hope we get other activision games on GP soon. My dream would be Scarface but I know the license probably expired

P_Bomb303d ago

Love me some Scarface! I even bought the comics. Yeah, licensing would probably be an impasse.

4Sh0w303d ago

hmmm, coincidence? Either way this is a good sign for gamers after the ABK deal.

porkChop303d ago

I played through Scarface again last year and it still holds up. Such a fun game. I would love for Xbox to get the rights back to remaster Scarface and make a sequel. It sold well and they had plans for Scarface 2, 3, and 4. With how long it takes Rockstar to make games the market is wide open.

TheColbertinator303d ago

That game was so much fun. Expected a cheap GTA clone but it was a good drug empire building game.

shinoff2183303d ago

They didn't just have plans but there's actual gameplay out there for scarface 2

neutralgamer1992303d ago

Seriously man we need games like

True crime
Sleeping dogs
Watch dogs( more like original not legion)
And proper saints row

GTA can’t be the only option we need other games

P_Bomb303d ago

@neutral
Gun was Activision as well. Nice open world Wild West there imo.

neutralgamer1992301d ago

Gun is such a underrated game

None of those games had dedicated servers on console in the first place? Were always player hosted. Did something change?

Rutaprkl302d ago

Older cods like Mw, Mw2 and WaW were way better than Call of Dutys nowadays

GoodGuy09302d ago

Make activision remaster mw2 (2009) multiplayer please xbox.
