Nintendo has historically struggled with managing online communities, and so far, they're leaving Super Mario Maker 2’s behind.
Although Super Mario Maker 2 on the Nintendo Switch received its final major update back in April 2020, it still occasionally receives a smaller update. The latest one follows on from an update in 2022 that addressed several issues.
Super Mario Maker 2 has received a new version 3.0.2 update more than two years after the last one, and patch notes are available.
The iconic red plumber have taken us everywhere, from another galaxy to New Donk City. Here are the best Super Mario games you can play right now.
I still say the series peaked with Galaxy. They've put out good stuff since then, but nothing really matched up.
I'm not really sure what more you could ask for.
There's only so much you can do with a game that is literally making and sharing 2D Mario levels.
Obviously there wasn't as much charm as the first game since it isn't a brand new idea. Also games like this are heavily community driven. I mean a game like Dreams could flop if the community aren't there continually building stuff for it.
Me and my daughter got a lot of enjoyment out of the story made and making and playing courses. I feel the game is a great value proposition and was fun while we played it. I'm sure we will go back to it and think Nintendo gave us everything we could've wanted outside of Mario 64/Sunshine/Galaxy (which I do not think is possible to design on current hardware, maybe Maker 3 on the Switch Pro/2?)
They should look to LBP. LBP improved a lot based on feed back from it's community, Nintendo should do the same with MM.
