I looked at the article, but the problem I have is that numbers aren't actually given for Witcher. Not only are we in the calm before the storm of seasonal and big exclusive releases, so a big week for a game may literally just be 30k copies, but they only talk about the Witcher 3 sales experiencing a big resurgence, which considering how old the game is now with it not being GTA V or Mario Kart, week over week sales were likely terribly low. To put it into context, a 1000% increase over 500 sales is still only 50,000, which is passable but likely fails to cover the cost of porting and distributing the game. Considering 500 after several years of slowing sales is really optimistic too. Honestly I expect their weekly sales average to be low across the three other versions by now.

A good indication that good third party game do sell on the Switch.

How in the name of all that is Holy does gta 5 still chart every month, we are starting to near a point of there being more copies of that game sold then there are consoles sold

has this outsold skyrim in overall sales? This game is definitely quality

King_Noctis1662d ago

“ CD Projekt Red's seminal RPG landed at No.4. Naturally, the vast majority of copies sold this week -- 96%, in fact -- were for Switch, selling almost exactly the same amount as Skyrim in its debut week. With a handful of copies shifted on PS4, Xbox One and PC, the game's overall sales increased 999% week-on-week“

Skyrim is at like 30 million-plus units sold. I don't think TW3 is even close to that. Last I heard the Witcher series as a whole is at 30 million. So no.

Looking Ahead: The Lingering Questions About the Next Mario Kart

VGChartz's Mark Nielsen: "10 years. It’s been almost 10 years since the last mainline release in the Mario Kart series. Mario Kart 8 came out for the Wii U in 2014 and became the best-selling game for the system by a sizeable margin, and later pulled the same magic trick on the Nintendo Switch under the stage name Deluxe. All in all, it's sold nearly 70 million copies over the last decade and is still selling like hot cakes to this day, so it’s no wonder Nintendo has been in no rush to replace it. However, with rumors of a new system being just around the corner, and reports a few years back that a new Mario Kart is indeed under way, it seems the era of 8 might very well be drawing to a close. It’s an exciting prospect to be sure, but after two Nintendo systems with Mario Kart 8 at their heart, a lot of questions remain about how Nintendo will choose to follow it up."

I hope they just keep building on Mario Kart 8; Add a track-creation tool, and probably open it up to more Nintendo IPs with new tracks and characters, so Metroid, Punch Out, Starfox, Animal Crossing, etc etc.

there wont be a new one until the switch 2 comes out.

nintendo needs their bangers early on
