Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order Features a Version of Shadow of Mordor's Nemesis System | AusGamers

Released in 2014, Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor was at its core Assassin's Creed but in the Lord of the Rings universe. That said, one of its most unique features dubbed the Nemesis system made it go well beyond simple clone. Where falling to named Orcs would see them rise in power and stature whereby the next time you faced them - they remembered who you were, and the way in which they took you out.

Unfortunately, the title of this article makes it seem like much more than it is. In reality, it seems almost identical to the Soulsborne mechanic of "whatever killed you took your stuff, and you have to kill it to reclaim it".

The only part that sounds like the Nemesis system is the gloating, but it seems as though that is just a post-death loading screen type event, like those in the Arkham games.

Please don't get hyped up into thinking that this game contains the Nemesis system.

The layout is very SoulsVania and I think that's pretty awesome.

Outlawzz1690d ago

Nice that system was actually pretty cool in shadow of Mordor

Kabaneri1690d ago

This plus the news that it has soulslike elements has increased my interest greatly. I was expecting an Uncharted clone.

Yes! Interest peaked. Easily my favorite new mechanic this gen.

They're not looking to acquire, but are they looking to be acquired? That's the big question now with companies like EA, T2, etc.

EA relies way to much on their licensed ip's which isn't a good thing for a Buyer.

I really want them to finish up Cal's story so LucasFilm are free to use him in a TV show or Film if he survives in the end anyway

Cal or Ezra should be rebuilding the Jedi Temple Order...not Rey.

CrimsonWing69306d ago

Please do. These Jedi games have been exceptionally top tier.

StarkR3ality306d ago

Other than their performance but yeah

CrimsonWing69306d ago

I didn’t really run into performance issues, but I played it on PS5.

neomahi306d ago

We don't want it, let someone else develop Star Wars

Tacoboto306d ago

1. Yes we do want it
2. One of the biggest recent announcements has been Star Wars Outlaws, developed by someone else.

all of those are good. I'd add some honorable mentions like Dark Forces and the original vector graphics arcade game.
