Nintendo Confirms Tokyo Mirage Sessions #FE Encore Japanese Version is Based on Western Version

Nintendo has confirmed that the Japanese version of Tokyo Mirage Sessions #FE Encore will be based on the Western version of the original game.

What a mistake. If you gave us in the west a uncensored version in English then those that own it already on the Wii U would have a reason to buy it again. Now even the Japanese version will be censored, you pretty much give nobody a reason to buy it again or at all. Good job at being lame af.

This is a hardcore weeb game - they're gonna lose a lot of sales over censorship. Especially in Japan who will not like the influence the whiny western media now holds over content in their own games.

Uhh wtf... I was hoping the localization was redone to properly reflect the Japanese version. What kind of backwards bs is this... One of the games I bought my switch to get when it comes like months after release to hear this... So disappointing.

They aren't requiring censoring of 3rd party games, but treehouse is about as bad as they've been since last gen. NISA has been going downhill on these localizations as well. If it weren't for the fact that NIS games are still pretty good regardless, I'd probably stop buying them. I've gotten used to god rays and lame uneeded changes to Japanese games back in the SegaCD days, so I don't complain about it much, but I would prefer these games just get released without changes, because they aren't increasing sales by doing this, since these games appeal to those who mostly like anime, and they prefer things to stay as authentic as possible.

I wished Sega/ Atlus handled the translation over Nintendo Treehouse . I still buy it, but it's kind of disappointing

I didn't like this game to begin with. I know they are not going to, but I would like to see Xenoblade Chronicles X on Switch.

Don't say never. Both Nintendo and Monolith Soft have expressed interest in a port or sequel to X on the Switch.

You're wrong. Nintendo published and handled the translation. This would fall on them because Nintendo Treehouse handled the translation.
