Death Stranding's environments are nightmare inducing

PAX Australia kicks off tomorrow and I was fortunate enough to get a little "hands-on" time with Death Stranding. It gave me nightmares.

I would LOVE to read this but I just can't. I've been going media blackout for a wile now. I preordered this digitally so I can play at midnight after it has obviously been preloaded. Can't wait. I want something fresh and unique in gaming. I'm sick of the Assassin's Creeds and Far Crys. I want a unique and mysterious open world game with a deep story.

The article writer goes on and on about how scary and atmospheric the experience was but gave no actual description of what they actually saw and witnessed. There is one screen shot but it didn't depict the spazfest that the article was spewing.Article was a waste of time.

I'm pretty sure he did - and it made him feel uneasy, exploring a near barren landscape, Nightfalls, creep sounds, for rolls in impairing your vision, something in the distance making it's way towards you.

Ambiguity is a good thing - let's your imagination do it's thing.

I was 25+ and still remember having nightmares about a bunch of Runners from Dying Light trying to kill me.
Dead Space gave me some effed up dreams too.

Are you serious? If people get nightmares watching a movie I’m pretty sure a video game where you have control over something can give you nightmares.

I’ll admit, I don’t scare easy off of movies (hereditary was the last movie that freaked me out) but I’m huge p*ssy when it comes to horror games.

ah crap i don't know if i can handle kojima's game now. I love his out of nowhere plot twists and quirkiness but when he makes a scary game it becomes hard for me lol I don't play horror titles. I'll have to watch a few lets play beforehand to guage whether or not to stick with it. Or at least read a few reviews.

At this point it's easy to see that most of the people whom are constantly belittling the game or being overly cautious are mostly new gen gamers who have not invested countless hours into Hideo's fantastic games.

I still remember the first time I played MGS on the playstation and not liking it at first glance because of his trademark style, then quickly fell in love with it and never looked back. It's not for everyone for sure, but from all the gameplay and information they've released so far I can easily say ill enjoy this game and most of us who have enjoyed his games in the past will definitely enjoy.

My suggestion to you if you haven't played any of Hideo's games in the past, give him a shot. It may seem as though he's getting unwarranted fanboy praise, but he and his team have earned this rabid fanbase with their consistency with every title they produce.

Over the past 2 decades this is one developer I can say I will back with no question, this much passion needs to be rewarded, and being at the end of his career he's probably making sure he retires with a BANG!
