"I'm not sure exactly what it is about Japan, but it seems that everybody there wishes they could solve all the problems in the world with a children's card game. Virtual card battles seem to drive Japanese gamers mental, so it should be no surprise that the PSP is home to a few of them.
Neverland Card Battles definitely capitalizes on this curiously Eastern trend, and it makes its target demographic blatantly obvious with its anime art style, nonsensical plot and mish-mash of traditionally Japanese gameplay elements. If you're what some call a "weeaboo," then you might need to pay attention.

Shadow writes "Originally released on PS2 in Japan only, Cardinal Arc offers a second life on PSP, and enjoy this time a french release (as well as a new name). This hybrid between the T-RPG and Card Game fate at a reduced price for the occasion, and at the same time as the Japanese version, thanks to the emerging society of Yuke's Company of America. Neverland Card Battles is up to the expectations, or is it a game without interest?

This phrase stayed with me while I was playing NeverLand Card Battles. The game itself is a blend of a collectable card games such as Pokemon or Magic the Gathering and a tactical role-playing game such as Final Fantasy Tactics."
Gamepro: "Neverland Card Battles is one baffling game. While this title has all the basic fundamentals of a decent card-based tactical RPG (large battlegrounds, complex combat rules, and so on), they actually make one really terrible game when they're all put together. With a bland story, bad voice acting, and one of the most annoying tactical systems I've seen in an RPG, I can't recommended this game for anyone but fans of this niche series."
