$60 despite being a complete remake and not a remaster, $60 seems right just like for the FF7 remake, remasters should not be that highly priced but some are. Remember not everyone has played the original so for them this is a new game.

Ratchet and Clank, the Spyro and Crash trilogies plus CTR were all remakes and sold for 40 on release... This Zelda game looks awesome but it is a tad expensive.

I've been vocal about this issue for quiet some time...
Nintendo has been hell bent this gen to pinch every penny off their customers...
And that's one of the main reasons why I didn't get a Switch this gen...
Luckily, Switch has been popular enough to spawn Yuzu...
Now 11 of us buy a single copy of every game that we'd like to play...
3 of us own a Switch which gets moved around as well...
It's worked fine for us so long and I don't see it changing anytime soon...

Last of Us PS4 was a remaster of a 1 year old game and included all DLC released up until that. Including the Left behind DLC which was like $10-$15.

Shadow of the colossus was also a remake for $40.

It’s clear way more work has been put into the FF7 remake than was put into Link’s Awakening. And FF7 remake is going to be a much bigger and longer game.

The only reason Link’s Awakening is $60 is because it’s Nintendo and Nintendo knows they can get away with price gouging because their fans will pay. It’s the same reason the lackluster remaster of Tropical Freeze (a 4 year old game) cost $10 more on the switch than when the game originally launched on Wii U.

Links Awakening is completely rebuilt. Nothing was reused here. It's a brand new game. It's not taking an existing game say from the PS3/360 and then remastering it at 1080p or something.

Switch has more exclusives this year than Sony Or Microsoft, probably combined. Astrial Chain is fantastic by the way. Links Awakining I am only an hour into, and it is almost perfect so far, it's an adventure I am looking forward to. Luigi's Mansion 3 is another I can't wait to play. Plus a ton of other great games I don't have time for. I am playing Gears 5 mostly at the moment, and it is crazy good and looks AMAZING on my 1X. When I beat Gears, and Blair Witch, I will be back to my Switch 90% of the time.

Been playing all morning, great little game that feels fresh despite playing it on my game boy years ago. I’m really hoping for a performance patch as the frame rate is all over the place currently.

I don’t get this “is it worth $60” topic. It’s worth what people will pay for it. And a lot of people will no doubt pay $60 for it. I paid $60 for the RE2 remake, paid $39 for the Crash remake(s), and I can’t remember what I paid for on the Shadow of Colossus remake, but they were are worth their price tags just as I’m sure Zelda will be.

One, it's arguably the greatest original Gameboy game, and one of the best games in the Zelda series. That game meant the world to me when I was little, and it was my introduction to the series. The remake is the closest thing I could ever have to experiencing that world again for the first time. To me, it's beautiful.
