There's been rumblings of a new Splinter Cell for years, rumors and reports saying its in development, and other saying the opposite. That said, while Ubisoft has teased the franchise's return in the past, it hasn't concretely suggested Sam Fisher is returning anytime soon. After a couple years of shenanigans, fans of the classic stealth series are starting to lose hope that Ubisoft is bringing back the franchise. However, maybe fans shouldn't lose all hope yet. Over on GameStop, there's an interesting little product tease that seems to all but confirm that a new entry in the series is in development.
Ubisoft's Assassin's Creed Mirage appears to be adopting a key Splinter Cell mechanic, which is great news for the characterization of Basim on PS5 and Xbox.
Splinter Cell is the most innovative stealth series to ever grace this industry, why this is high time for a mobile port we'll discuss here
The Splinter Cell titles have some of the best co-op modes in the stealth-action genre, expanding on the series' main campaigns with new characters.
It's rough to see Ubisoft complaining about games not being successful etc, while they sit churning out the same games over and over again and leave obvious money sitting on the table by doing franchises like Splinter Cell wrong.
Whilst I loved the SC multiplayer, I still think they were kind of niche due to the complexity of the maps and learning curve. I wished they made better practice bots though for solo play. Co-op is pretty decent though but not enough players and a very intimate experience. You couldn't really play with randoms who ignore the stealth, so had to play with friends.
Now we just need a teaser by Ubisoft. Come on guys, we haven't had a Splinter cell this gen.. it's about time. Do it!!!
Watch as its a mobile game.
I really want this to be true. I may be alone when I say this but, I really loved and enjoyed each and every entry in the series except for the Nokia N-gage one or whatever that abomination was named.
Mobile game? Jokes aside I don't want an open world game with micro-transactions.
The real question is will it be a game that must be online to play, even though it is a single player game and if it will be a microtransactions extravaganza?
