The tears of pros have a sweet taste now.

This is probably one of the worst decisions they have made. You cant make a change like this when you've built the game up for two years in it's current state. It's similar to Realm Royale removing unique legendary weapons and adding more RNG (Which killed their game) and H1Z1 completely changing their unique shooting mechanics out of the blue (Which killed their game).

It's just all down to removing any skill gap from this game as they want the people who play for 5 minutes to get a win and keep playing, the last few seasons and the changes they are making have made it clear that they want this to be a completely casual game for anyone to win with minimal effort. That's perfectly fine but don't build your game for 2 years around a different philosophy as your core audience will just reject it.

That's a change for a demographic that pays the most, casuals. The same with the mech. It's just business at the end of the day.

Yeah I completely agree, it just sucks for the pro players and people who like a bit more of a challenge. They obviously know the stats behind who's playing/paying at the end of the day

@KeenBean345 Wouldn't it be more of a challenge to win if you take away a skill that gives you a big advantage over someone lacking said skill?

lol like the fortnite playerbase is full of passionate gameplay purists

EuIderink1728d ago (Edited 1728d ago )

@Zenbaby369 sort of, but thats should not be the purpose. People practiced to get to that lvl of skill. I think a good example is like a shooting competition where speed and accuracy are rewarded. Then they say well cause some of u are not skilled enough we gonna drop the speed part and only accuracy counts.

Skill isn't the problem.

Scrubs will forever ruin games. Look what happened to Street Fighter.

This is a trend happening all across gaming for the last decade. If scrubs would just concern themselves with games that are made for them we wouldn't have this problem.

This is the worse thing they could do. They got ppl quitting off the mechs and now big build changes. The pro players saw alot of choices in gaming, even casuals. Why do you think Minecraft resurged as a giant hit? It was always a big success but no where on this level for the past few years. Now it's at the top again because simply streamers and YouTubers jumped back on it pulling over a giant audience and them then bringing over friends etc. It's going to be a domino effect. Even Casuals can build decent enough in fornite now. If you can't use the games mechanics you should get better. No reason to ruin one of the games most unique things. I don't play fortnite, but this just sounds dumb

I don't play it either, but "nerf" is always a 4-letter word. Pulling the rug out from under players who have a lot invested in the game is never a good thing. If I buy a game with a certain set of expectations, and then those are eliminated down the road, on a whim, I'd feel reamed.

Fighting games were notoriously difficult back in the day at arcades but no one was complaining. Something about this day and age just birthed an entire generation of kids that are never satisfied and want hollow victories.

"..an interesting game many have no interest in playing" ....what? For those many people, there are also many that love it and play it a ton. This is a really dumb article.

ChasterMies1063d ago

Fortnite is the most popular game in the world. I doubt Epic needs help from fraghero.com.
