Darksiders III Feels Old-School, and It’s Great Because of It

Darksiders III from Gunfire Games is a terrific old-school adventure in the vein of The Legend of Zelda, and it tried to be nothing it wasn't.

It was a fun game. A bit different from the first two, but it's definitely worth giving a try. It sucks how most people see review scores of 6s and 7s and don't even give it a second glance.

Games from last generation are far better, by enlarge, when compared to this generation. To some degree, even games from the PS2 generation, are better than many games today. I think if a game sticks to oldschool gameplay, it should automatically cause reviewers to show more interest. Instead, everything is based on changing the formula and so-called "evolving" the gameplay of a game, rather than looking at how fun or challenging a game should be.

Lately during the summer drought, I've been plugging away at my backlog. Deus ex human revolution, metro 2033/last light really gave me perspective.

Narrative has been pushed to the side for sand box open worlds and micro transactions. The creative focus has turned from "how can we make a game that grabs your attention and keep them interested" to "how can we make a game that grabs you wallet and wastes your time roaming mostly uninteresting landscapes"

True, the change in focus is apparent.

I love DS1 and 2 like really love them but when I heard DS3 took after souls I skipped it. Sorry I just don't like Souls gameplay. Not calling it bad, just don't like it. More interested in Genesis. This game also looks much more budget than the first 2 and I can love some budget stuff but this looks to me like that 3rd film in a trilogy that came straight to video. I may get it one day when really cheap but for now just going to look forward to Genesis.

Did well, not only it looks average when compare to the other two entrys but it also runs like crap with constant Framerate drops and slowdows .,.. talkiing about the console version. When you have to have fast Control response and the game is droping frames and it borders the unplayable

It's Been 13 Years Since The Cliffhanger, When's The Darksiders Finale Coming?

Now that all of Darksiders' horsemen have been explored, it's about time we get the epic team-up the first game left us hanging for.

Embracer went on a massive studio buying spree in hopes one deal with saudis would go through and it didn’t.
Now they are shutting down studios and looking for cash after spending most of it on acquisitions.
I wouldn’t get my hopes up for anything that Embracer owns.
They need to get out of this problem they made for themselves but it may never happen. They f’d up big time.
Darksiders has little hope at this moment

Darksiders III for Nintendo Switch Review (The Gamers Lounge)

Darksiders III on Nintendo Switch is a mostly well-done port that is likely to take a lot of people by surprise given its huge graphical upgrade over its previous generation predecessors. While the game itself is far from perfect, it should be commended that even with a few downgrades here and there, the overall integrity of the game remains intact and officially completes the entire Darksiders series being available on Nintendo Switch, which lends itself nicely to handheld play despite a AAA production that's as epic and grandiose as the series has ever been.

Darksiders III Nintendo Switch OLED Review - The Wrath of Fury I The Koalition

Adam Vale of The Koalition writes: When thinking about some of my favorite hack & slash adventure games of last-gen, Darksiders and Darksiders II pop up in my head. The story was unique, and the combat was satisfying with creative level design. For whatever reason, I never picked up Darksiders III. So here we are in 2021 and Darksiders III has been ported to my preferred portable gaming device. This is why I held off on reviewing this game until my Nintendo Switch OLED arrived. At least 90% of my gaming on the Switch is in handheld mode and I wanted to experience this horrid creature-infested world on the new vibrant OLED screen.

Despite the issues with the game itself, Darksiders III still looks great on the Nintendo switch OLED model.
