Hopefully with the 4 player splitscreen from the Xbla version?

Awesome. I’ve been wanting to play OG Doom. There’s something that’s still incredibly satisfying about blasting an Imp with a shotgun.

The missing link between Doom 2 and 3, and one of my favorite Doom games

If you have a modded switch, someone ported a PC version of Doom 64, best you can get at the moment :/

Bring back the PS1 Custom PlayStation Edition and format it for modern televisions. Best version of DOOM to date and that soundtrack knocks it out of the park.

That version suffered from limitations, be far better to have the original doom, the PS1 had to make sacrifices to get it to work because of the RAM limit

Dom_Estos1742d ago

Well, then, you're obviously not aware of the PC port of it, which doesn't suffer from RAM limit. Doom TC it's called. And although it's a total conversion made by one person, what's Bethesda's excuse for not porting it, despite it being made by Williams?

paulust20021742d ago

Glad I’m not the only one that remembers that. Twisted my head, all them strobing lights and baby cries.

Dom_Estos1742d ago (Edited 1742d ago )

I agree. For me, personally, this is what Doom's true vision was all about. The music completely changed the tone of the game. A more fitting one to be honest, despite it having the exact same gameplay. I love the original midi score, but that, along with the game's art, was heavily influenced (some say plagiarised) at the time of development by the metal rock music that John Romero was into, so Id didn't really have anyone with a professional music composer background in the team like Aubrey Hodges.

gangsta_red1742d ago

10000%! I remember getting this version for the PS and it was hands down the best version of Doom I have ever played. And hell yes, I was also blown away by the soundtrack.

WPX1742d ago

That Aubrey Hodges soundtrack was scary as it was awesome. His Doom64 and Quake64 soundtracks were awesome too.
