A leading Naughty Dog developer has revealed the frustration he felt at some of the gameplay mechanics introduced by the studio's popular PS2 platformer, Jak II: Renegade.
Both me and my sister were turned off by Jak 2. It just felt too different from the first, which remains one of my favorite platformers ever. Never finished it.

You can't make changes without alienating some of your fanbase. As someone who loved 2 and 3, you are missing out bro. I definitely adored most of the changes and additions introduced. They made he series darker and with more serious storytelling.
Being a big fan of open world 3D platformers, Jak 2 disappointed me, too. 1 and 2 are worlds apart in their design.
and personally, I thought Ratchet and Clank did the action/platformer hybrid thing waaaaaay better than Jak 2.
Jak 2 was one of my most anticipated games ever. I loved the first Jak and Ratchet was my favorite series. Ugh, hated Jak 2 though. My son played it for the first time the other day and he couldn't believe it.
