both were bad before Sony decided to give Detroit. now, there is clear winner.

I agree. Detroit made PS plus the clear winner.

TK-661775d ago

Couldn't agree more. XGP is the winner this month.

gangsta_red1775d ago

Both are extremely trash this month. But if you haven't played Limbo then that's a treat and SoTN is a classic, but old.

Jin_Sakai1775d ago

“Both are extremely trash this month.“

Detroit: Become Human and Heavy Rain are great games.

PS Plus is not trash this month. Can’t say the same for Games With Gold.

gangsta_red1775d ago

Detroit and Heavy Rain are also trash games.

David Cage is great at making shlock and trying to pass it off as some deep, emotional story telling game.

TK-661775d ago

I know everyone likes to pretend David Cage creates incredible stories but the reality is that out of every story focused AAA his are the ones most riddled with inconsistencies, plot holes, and downright bad design.

Detroit confirmed this for me when cage made a scene that has you kissing your girlfriend to save yourself from being shot. Hank and Connor were good but if you look into the development they had a heavy amount of improv and Cage was dissatisfied with their performance. The best part of his game happened in spite of him and not because of him.

Both are extremely trash???…And "Limbo"???

OH…I GET IT…Of course you think its "trash this month"…You don't even know what games everybody else is talking about.

gangsta_red1775d ago (Edited 1775d ago )

Hmmmm...I don't get it, I said both months are trash, one is offering extremely old games (plus Meet the Robinsons...lol) the other one is offering garbage Detroit plus some weak Outrun game.

Now maybe you can explain what is everyone else talking about.

gangsta_red1775d ago

Ah, Inside, right on for the correction. That's what Uptown meant

Well the bipolar gamers out there were complaining about the Plus games this month like clockwork then they gave out Detroit instead and now everything is good. The same person who wrote on here about Plus needs to change is nowhere to be found now. Along with all the people that were complaining. Funny how that works.

Oh course, you still have those out there that are clearly fanboys trying to stick with their guns and still saying Plus has a trash month. It's really sad and I rest hope that these people aren't adults because it's beyond childish at this point.

Last, in my opinion, these comparisons are not even needed. Less than $5 a month and people are complaining about the games they get. I really find it strange especially with the crowd that didn't get anything for an entire generation and actually celebrated for paying for online. Somebody is always complaining.....

slayernz1775d ago

while i thought PES was a bad choice for a game I was quite happy as some of my backlog could have been tidied up - now that Detroit is there that aint happening. Played the first level last night and loved it, gonna sit down tomorrow night and have a good session on it. Quite happy and cant complain especially because they are free offerings!

I complained. I'm here. I stand by my comments. All of them.

Inside came to Xbox thanks to a phone call from Phil Spencer

The Xbox CEO's personal intervention led to a exclusivity deal with Microsoft, reveals Playdead co-founder Dino Patti.

You mean this guy that put one of his games on gamer pass and says it hurts sales:

https://videogames.si.com/f...

“We did a pretty good deal,” Patti says. “I also think it hurts sales. Because a lot of people just go in and try it and they don't invest. If they don't like the first 10 minutes? That’s it. Also, if you don't make the first 10 minutes amazing, maybe it's also a problem. I think [Game Pass] is okay. It's not my favorite. My favorite is the old premium model where I sell you on some video, on big images, and earn your $30. And then after that, I have to deliver. I don’t need to get money out of you later.”

He and his partner were smart in the fact to tell Sony shit no in owning the IP of Limbo. As for Inside, it's a great game. Music, atmosphere, everything is on point. Xbox got some time exclusivity. And Phil threw money at it. Luckily it wasn't permanent in that I wouldn't have been able to play it. Probably sold more on PlayStation though. But Play Dead sure knew how to make simple but fun side scroller games with puzzles in them. I would buy the next game like those. And knowing the guy, he would want me to buy his next game and earn his money that way.

You have an uncanny ability to turn little one-off stories into a tangential spiel with no ultimate purpose. What's anyone expected to get out of this?

"Did you know a developer who got a timed exclusivity deal with MS *ISN'T* a fan of a service that came out years later?"

I mean... okay? I guess the original story about Nice Guy Phil has been negated now or something?

PapaBop274d ago (Edited 274d ago )

"You have an uncanny ability to turn little one-off stories into a tangential spiel with no ultimate purpose."

He probably learned that from MS.

ChasterMies275d ago

“Not only was Microsoft responsible for much of the game's marketing at various trade shows and conventions, but the timed exclusivity was kept very brief, as the PS4 version of Inside was released just a few months after its debut on Xbox One.”

A lot of folks think these deals are all about cash payments, but often the consideration is marketing. My guess is that this will be less so on Xbox now that Microsoft has all those studios to market.

TricksterArrow274d ago

Plus, hasn't Inside sold more on PS than Xbox? Major win for the developers.

__SteakDeck__275d ago (Edited 275d ago )

So Phil did what he was complaining in court that Sony was doing. Lol

-Foxtrot274d ago

He’s one of the biggest hypocrites in the industry…of course

Outside_ofthe_Box274d ago

Phil is such an 'aggressive competitor'.

rippermcrip274d ago

Headline acts like this game was never coming to Xbox. Not true. It was going to be probably a 1 year exclusive to Sony. Spencer probably gave them the same money to make it 3 months for Microsoft instead.

Flakegriffin274d ago

So he did his job?

Congrats? 😂
