They're saving everything for a big PS5 Reveal im guessing.

THC CELL1771d ago

This is true its gunna be there biggest show ever

DarXyde1771d ago

I wonder how long this event is going to be, honestly.

It would be very surprising for them to not to have some kind of show soon. They still need release dates for Ghost of Tsushima and The Last of Us Part II which I would think is too big for a simple State of Play.

The only way I can see this being saved for the PS5 announcement is if they show it and it's substantially auto- enhanced by the hardware and make for a remarkable showing.

"Hot off the heels of news that both Universal and Warner Bros. are skipping this year’s San Diego Comic-Con, Deadline reports that Sony will be pulling out of the event as well."

I guess Comic-Con is dead and irrelevant now/s

AK911772d ago

I know your joking but I legit forgot they show game's at Comic-Con

ps360s1771d ago

I was thinking the same! never knew they did

Cmv381771d ago

Same here. I was thinking they aren't skipping something they have no reason of going to. Learn something new everyday.

AK911772d ago

I kind hope they keep doing this even after the PS5 reveal, I just think we need PSX at the end of every year from sony and that's it along with the State of Plays.

King_Noctis1772d ago

I would prefer they do actual conference at E3 (as well as another one for PSX) and have a few small State of Play shows sprinkle througout the year. I think they have enough contents to do that, especially after the PS5 reveal.

sprinterboy1772d ago

I'd be happy with a every other year setup for E3 and psx and quarterly for thw state of play

UltraNova1772d ago

No, with the insurmountable expectations we have, Sony cannot possibly hope to appease us with two major conferences per year, new console or not. We've seen what happened last year.

Going forward Sony should only focus on PSX in December and some SoPs throughout the rest of year. Their presence via demo booths at other EU and Japan shows is a given.

Too much of anything is bound to disappoint us and we all know how easily we get disappointed these days.

jznrpg1772d ago

Eh , this isn’t a big game show. Sure they show games but it’s not gaming focused

Soap_Z1772d ago

They have Spider-Man FFH and Quentin's Once Upon a Time in Hollywood to release this month, that's why they don't attend SDCC. Sony is the only one in big 6 to have 2 big titles to release this month.

I find that these journalists are the most anxious group of people about Sony not attending shows. It's Sony's fault to provide less chance to them to talk shit.

“While we haven't even begun to tap into the full potential of the PS5“

We always here this statement yet we have plenty of games that struggle to run at solid frame rates or decent resolutions.

Skuletor11h ago

The developers should know the limits of these consoles, especially this far into the gen. I'd blame them and possibly the publishers, pushing to make games as visually appealing as possible at the cost of resolution and frame rate, which is nothing new in the industry.
