The battle mode was half arsed in the normal Mario Kart 8 and no one gave that a worse score

I mean it was the only MK game to use actual race tracks found in the main game then special maps for battle mode, a half arsed unfinished job but not a single reviewer marked it down

Everything in MK8 was perfect apart from the half assed battle.mode hence the 9s and not 10s.

The gameplay, track design , graphics etc were basically perfect .

And then you have MK8D which adds the deepest battle mode so far and you have basically a perfect game with tons of content.

CTR might be good, great even. But as good as MK8D? Yh not even remotely close.
Like comparing Knack to Super Mario Odyssey or PSASBR to Smash Bros. Theyre just not as good. Period.

I don’t disagree with you @Eddie except comparing Crash CTR to MK8 is not the same as PS all stars and smash bros, or Knack (really?) to Mario Odyssey. I would bet CTR and MK8 are more on par comparison. And if anything remained intouched from the original CTR, Then I will prefer CTR over MK8 because of adventure mode and collect-a-tons, just like I liked the original more over MK 64 for the same reason.

It's a remake of a 20 year old game vs a fairly new mario kart. if it was ctr vs mk64 yeah make all the comparisons you like but those are incomparable.

yeah MK8D was the first MK for me and I was very underwhelmed... the 1999 version of ctr has way more content, tighter driving, learning curve, etc..

when I tried MK8D I was like... that's it? only played under 2 hours and sold it immediately after, not sure where all the 9s come from

You obviously did not master the originals since skill completely determined if you were able to perfect time trials, yet in the N. Sane trilogy, so much of it fell upon random luck. Especially since things like jumping in each of the original games were tweaked slightly with each subsequent release, yet in the N. Sane trilogy, they made things like "jump distance" UNIVERSALLY the same through all three games..."Mastered the originals" my ass.

Don't know what you are talking about. I played Crash Bandicoot to death on PS1. I kept playing the trilogy until the N.Sane Trilogy was released. The controls were awesome.

You haven't even played the CTR remake and you don't even know who is remaking it and here you are taking a huge dump on it.
