" Does it top what Mario Kart 8 did five years ago? Once again, no "
Mario Kart 8 didn't have a campaign like mode and the battle mode, compared to previous games, was half finished which they only fixed in the new Deluxe version
That alone in my opinion lets CTR top it.
It looks like it could be interesting, certainly seems to have a decent amount of extra content gameplay wise than the mentioned MK8, as -Foxtrot says. I can't say I'm enthused about the 'live service' nonsense though, but I'm sick to the back teeth of live service games already.
I'll wait for the inevitable PC release.
I bet they will screw up the feel of the controls like they did with N. Sane trilogy -.-
Apples to oranges in a way retrospectively the game originally released as an attempt to give PS players a kart racer that could rival the giant that was Mario kart 64 and they did make a solid game but it's unique in its own way I don't think it needs to be compared to Mario kart as the game is a remake of a 90s game it's not meant to compete with Mario kart 8 it's a nostalgia product.
If Nintendo re release mario 64 would they get unfair comparisons like the game doesn't control as well as galaxy
