E3 2019: Final Fantasy 7 Remake First Episode Is Releasing March 3rd, Watch The New Trailer

It has now been officially announced that the first episode of the Final Fantasy 7 Remake will be launching next year. During the Square Enix Final Fantasy concert a new trailer was showcased and at the end it was confirmed to launch March 3rd .

Freaking beautiful! Not sure what to think of that last scene, but it's looking really good so far! Also, is that Heideggar talking to Shinra? If so, that is definitely not how I pictured him, haha. He looks a lot more intimidating.

what happens to Aeris when she is first meeting Cloud ?? is asking for help to escape from shadows ??? wtf...this was nt in the original and also someway fails to catch the calm and romantic feeling of random -true love-meeting moment of the original

I think that random moment is still there, what was in the escaping part is the part in the original where they are actually escaping from Shinra troops. As I recall, you could just fight them endlessly until you ran away.

@rain i think they r the black cape -shadow people that follow Sephiroth (you can meet them later in the game).....though revealing them now and spoiling the exact romantic moment was a mistake imo

Aeris in the original, being an Ancient/Cetra, has the ability to communicate with the dead.
It's how she found out about her adoptive Father's death before her adoptive Mother did.

SE did say they wanted to expand on the story so that scene in question may be them shedding some more light on her abilities as an Ancient/Cetra.
As for how Cloud was able to see them? He has Jenova cells in him, so while he's not a full blood Ancient/Cetra like Aeris, he still may have some, but not all of their abilities.

I think the reason he could see them was because she touched him and then they became visible. Before that he hadn't a clue. Though maybe you're right in that the only reason he could see them when she touched him is because of the Jenova cells.

I didn't realize he had a pretty nasty scar across his eye in the original game. I guess the blocky graphics couldn't really show that in detail.

I think its fine. Its been in development since 2015 (or earlier idk) and its separated in 3 or so parts making each come faster. Heck I was expecting it to come by this holiday.

To expect ANYTHING "early" or "on time" from Square, is being delusional.

Its not early really when you think about it. They may have scrapped an engine but the story and general art design is already done not to mention a bunch of assets were probably transferred instead of wasting them. Then theres the fact its episodic and that means the turn around is fast.

So far off...It's ridiculous that Square has a HUGE team of people, yet in less time since this games announcement, Hideo Kojima was able to make his own studio, announce a new IP AND complete that project, IN LESS time than it took Square to make part 1 of something they have the entire plot for...And on top of that, comparing them to Capcom, a tiny team compared to Square, who manages to make amazing new games lately, AND amazing remakes in such short spans of time, makes it even more laughable.

Having the whole story written out doesn't make the world of FFVII magically create itself for them. They need a LOT of time to flesh out these huge areas and the vast world. I want them to take all the time they need, if it's going to pay off in the end. I don't want them to just get it out for the sake of releasing the thing. That's FFXV all over again. (I did enjoy the game, but it was absolutely clear that things were rushed.)

Ff7 has huge expectations and they really want to perfect it. It is regarded as one of the best ever games created and loved by many after all. They also needed to finish up kh3 too which is why theyve been very quiet and off and on on this games development probably. Ff7 takes place in a WHOLE world with you visiting pretty much everywhere on the planet with multiple locations that are huge and with the visuals and details they want to go for, of course itd take a very long time and longer than smaller scoped games like capcoms and death stranding....well we dont really know how big that game is. All the areas, cities, towns, monsters, characters, gameplay, amount of npcs and especially since its an rpg game which is the deepest genre in a video game. Look at witcher 3, mass effect, skyrim, etc and yea....Rpgs are friggin huge. Ff7 is a very huge project so I think a 2020 release date for the first episode is fair.
If part 1 is a great game then Id wait even another 5 years for the next part as long as they can deliver an amazing game that we all expect it to be or even go beyond our expectations. This remake is a dream come true if youve seen any reactions from true fans.

Im guessing she'll be revealed at squares conference. And that exclusive deal, sony probably paid a huge amount for it to happen so theyre under contract lol.
