Grandia 2 is still one of my favorite games of all time. On Dreamcast anyway. Ps2 version was bad.

azariosays1799d ago

Grandia was a great experience for me as a kid. I remember liking the 360 camera

micdagoat191799d ago

PS2 version of everything is inferior lol

Sirk7x1798d ago (Edited 1798d ago )

Many ports, yes, but no one can deny the ridiculous library the PS2 had. That was probably the best generation in gaming ever. All three consoles had stellar exclusives. I loved my Xbox, I loved my Gamecube and my PS2. I hustled alot in high school and managed to get ahold of all three. Good times. For some reason I don't include Dreamcast, even though it had great games and was ahead of its time as well.

What version of Metal Gear 2 is the PS2 version better than?

nitus101798d ago

Personally, I found Grandia 2 (still have it) on the PS2 to be an excellent game.

Unfortunately even on the PS3 (FAT) with smoothing enabled the picture on a 55" HDTV is annoyingly pixelated although it is not that bad on a smaller screen.

Why not on all the consoles?!

Teflon021799d ago

It'll probably hit PS4 in the future to milk it a bit more. Possibly Xbox as well. But it is weird to just rerelease the game on Switch when it's been a supported game by Sony to the point you can buy the PSOne classic still and play on Vita and such (which I have on mine). I just want it to go 4K and look good in it. Was getting on PC either way. So Guess we'll see since it's sprites. Just makes me wonder. Will they be upgrading 2 and changing the PC version to a newer version after this? I definitely won't be opposed to it

Gemmol1799d ago

If u got ps4 and switch like me get it on switch 4K with sprites wont make a huge difference

indysurfn1798d ago

Lots of SWITCH owners love JRPG's so that is probably the reason?

Also maybe they plan a 4k version of PS4pro that would take longer?

Segata1799d ago

Some of my fave RPGs ever. Still, have my original copies. I'm all in for this.

Relientk771799d ago

I'm still waiting for a Grandia 4

:-(

Segata1799d ago

You don't want that. You think you do but you don't. Grandia creator is dead. GA is a holding company now. The last Lunar and Grandia games they made were not good.

Outlawzz1799d ago

Good thing I never finished it on vita 😅

I assume there is a pc version of this? Never got to play these games back in the day so it's tempting to try them out now.

FinalFantasyFanatic9d ago

It exists, doesn't work on Steam Deck though, which is a pity, I've had the PC versions since release.

Grandia HD Collection Review – Timeless Classics, Poor Porting Work [PSLegends]

Angelus Victor said: The 90s and 2000s era of gaming is both nostalgic and underrated at the same time. So many series got their start, not knowing how the future of gaming would be back in day. Well, nostalgia is definitely the king, so it’s not uncommon to see old games remastered in HD so that you can play them on your modern console. Now, does Grandia HD Collection live up to the expectations? Well, it’s complicated.

and this after the director said that "they'd "have to make 4k textures if it were ever to come to playstation and others"

I'm still buying Physically. Nice to get these older games on modern consoles. I'm not overly worried about 60fps 4k resolutions and all that if I'm being honest.

Grandia HD Collection Review -- Take Me Back to Halcyon Days | The Nerd Stash

The Nerd Stash: "NPCs are assets, not obstacles in the Grandia HD Collection. The music is beautiful but used as a backdrop, allowing you to focus on the game's diverse worlds. Characters from each game are charming, with the first game having a better protagonist, and the second having a superior supporting cast. The battle systems are still unique to this day, and these games are now fully democratized to all of the major home gaming markets. It's timeless for connoisseurs of the classics, and essential for those seeking a truly unique JRPG."

Don't forget. Buy the physical of this. It'll be worth it in the end.

jznrpg42d ago (Edited 42d ago )

Going to order it now. I own the Switch version but I’d rather have it on PlayStation

gold_drake34d ago

shinoff218334d ago

It's 40 bucks digital 15 extra for physical. I'm confused by the half
