Cuphead Will Be Playable in Tesla Model 3, Model S, and Model X Cars

From IGN: "Cuphead, the memorable 2017 bullet-hell shooter that's meticulously styled after a 1930's cartoon, will soon be playable on an unlikely new platform: Tesla's fleet of electric cars and their built-in dashboard screens. The breakout hit, which debuted on Xbox One and PC before being ported to Nintendo Switch earlier this year, is on the way to Tesla's Model 3, Model S, and Model X, as Tesla CEO Elon Musk revealed on episode 200 of my weekly Tesla podcast, Ride the Lightning (at the 36:48 mark)."

Jin_Sakai1822d ago

There’s going to be a lot of raging Tesla drivers.

CyberSentinel1822d ago (Edited 1822d ago )

Only 1 section of the game.
Musk should concentrate on getting his cars to market, instead of this “bright” idea.

🙄

Jin_Sakai1822d ago

I’m pretty sure he’s still his main focus.

Lol, my buddy wanted me to invest in tesla because "it's the future of cars".

Tesla is cool, but I see nothing but problems purchasing one...

1. The tax credits of 5000-13000 dollars are if you owe the government taxes at the end of the year. I get a small amount of taxes back and so does most of America. This doesn't help.
2. 30 minutes at the charging station to fully charge, very inconvenient.
3. My phone batteries deplete at an extremely fast rate, within a year some pphones hold less than 75% of total compacity.
4. I'm in Wisconsin where our temperatures this year got to lower than -50 degrees. Batteries die so fast in the cold. Along with this, finding a mechanic to work on a Tesla would be damn near impossible given few have them here.
5. It's a huge technical advancement for vehicles and that's what your buying. Hydrogen vehicles are better for the environment, but have their own issues with cost and performance. Hybrids would be the way to go for me. Best of both, money saving of electric and accessibility of gas.

Tesla is not for me, but Cuphead is! I wish my friends would enjoy it as much as I do, but they get frustrated.

Profchaos1822d ago (Edited 1822d ago )

Can you explain what you mean by investing in Tesla are you buying shares or a car?

Sounds like the car isn't for you and you need something more rugged but it's a big World out there the tax credits only affect the US but the cars are sold internationally and if you're doing over 420 KMs per day you're going to have issues with battery duration for the day but each car comes with a home charge station so just park up and charge overnight.

roadkillers1822d ago

The stock market. I do not know enough about Tesla stock to invest in them (I do know that Activision is one of thebest VG stocks to invest in currently btw). The cars are definitely not for me at the moment.

NecrumOddBoy1822d ago

@batteries dying fast in the cold, via google search:
"Storing them at lower temperatures will slow their self discharge rate dramatically. NiMH batteries stored at freezing will retain over 90% of their charge for full month. So it might make sense to store them in a freezer. If you do, it's best to bring them back to room temperature before using them."

I always thought batteries stored in the cold preserve them.

kneon1821d ago

@NecrumOddBoy

Nope, extreme cold is bad for most batteries, and so is extreme heat.

If your car battery is getting old then you'll find out that it's time to replace it once it get's down below -15c or so. You may have just enough charge left to start the car once, but maybe not even that. You see a lot of tow trucks out boosting cars on very cold mornings.

Telsas have a battery warmer to keep the battery from getting too cold when the temperature drops below freezing. But of course keeping the battery warm also consumes energy which will even further reduce the energy available for driving.

Tax credit means you get all of that money, provided you owe that much or more in taxes. People who can afford Teslas probably do pay that much in taxes every year. (Tax deductions come off your taxable income. Tax credits come off the tax owed directly.)

You don't have to fully charge. In fact, that's bad for the battery. If you're just commuting to work in the same general area where you live, just keeping it plugged in overnight (preferably at 240V) will leave you with enough juice to avoid electric pit stops.

Lithium-Ion batteries do deplete if you don't use them. True dat. Temperatures can be an issue with them too.

Hydrogen would be better, if it wasn't so costly both in terms of money and the environment to produce it. Supposedly, new technologies might alleviate or solve the issues. We'll see.

Yea i highly doubt this little feature is taking away hundreds of hours of Elon's personal time...

ApocalypseShadow1822d ago (Edited 1822d ago )

Why bother for one game?

Use an inverter to play your console of choice in the car and small monitors. Done.

Now you have thousands of games to choose from. Including Cuphead.

KillZallthebeast1822d ago

Kind of fits with tesla being somewhat different from the norm and having its own distinguishing characteristics

ApocalypseShadow1822d ago (Edited 1822d ago )

Being different is fine. Wasting time on something stupid is not forward thinking. It's like putting a waterbed on a motorcycle. Or launching a car in orbit. It's dumb when it serves no purpose.

The right inverter allows you to plug in an Atari all the way beyond PS5 and Xbox Two. Common sense says now you have thousands of choices over *one* game.

The IQ level of N4G sometimes.

KillZallthebeast1822d ago

Fairy sure implementing this has had 0 effect on overall production time of the cars themselves. They already have screens and CPUs to run their various systems already.

Neonridr1821d ago

now would you feel the same way if Tesla had announced you could play a Sony game instead?

Just curious..

PhantomS421822d ago

Because that's going to promote safe driving...oh wait it won't.

moralsup1822d ago

You think you can play while driving, dont you

PhantomS421822d ago

Irresponsible Tesla drivers certainly will. They already think they can sleep, text, and other stuff that ends in them getting into car accidents.

slavish01822d ago

one would have to be a idiot to think that 😆

1822d ago
Fist4achin1822d ago

I was going to say, I hope it is one of those self driving cars...

SpaceRanger1822d ago

Lmao do you actually think you can access those features and Easter eggs while driving? Please tell me you don’t actually believe that and that you’re joking.

I own one and your comment is sounding like you think Tesla drivers cause accidents all the time.

1822d ago
SpaceRanger1822d ago

@SolidGamerX

Still safer than half the drivers on the road. What’s the number of car accidents per day with non-tesla cars? 🤔 Oh yeah, it typically averages 18,000+.

Neonridr1821d ago

@SolidGamerX - hahaha, that's a great clip. I laugh, but I am totally jealous. Wish I could sleep on my drive to work. :P

kneon1821d ago

@SpaceRanger

The amount of Teslas on the road is a rounding error in the total number of cars out there so your accident number is meaningless. You would need to compares accidents/distance driven to have any sort of reasonable basis for comparison.

I don't know how Teslas work, but lots of vehicles disable accessing certain features on their touch screen such as inputting addresses into the GPS or reading texts (audio still works) while said vehicle is in motion. I would think that a videogame of any kind would be on the list of features that can only be accessed while a vehicle is stationary.

Still no toaster release announcement?

Well it will be on toasters before PS4...
