As for EA Access - I have two subscriptions (PS Plus and Netflix), one too many afaic and EA's library of piss pour, half-assed GaaS games aint cutting it for me and good games(weirdly) like Titanfall 2 and BFV(yeah yeah I know but still) can be bought for less then 20 bucks both.

Yeah, EA games go for peanuts during sales on PSN, so even if you wanted to play them, it's more cost effective to snag them during a sale. Titanfall 2, Battlefront games cost less to buy than a couple of beers (although the beers may be the better option).

It's not a bad deal really. I wasn't into the idea when it first came out, because it's EA. Otherwise, they made it into a decent service. I still don't care for EA, but at least they have something good in the service.

I’d say good news to try out some new EA titles before you buy and even play some classics like Titanfall 2.

Although EA games lately have been pretty bad, I’d say this is still a better value than just buying their games, especially sports fans tbh

I do hope that with it being a July release (rather than sooner) if EA/Sony are working on a way to play the older titles. Be it through some new means of emulation or PS NOW. Otherwise that’s even less for your bucks

Anthem and battlefield were the only two ea games I have purchased this gen.

I agree too in that paying to access mediocre or bad games isn't how I'd spend my money. Sure it's cheap, but that doesn't make it ok. Knowing that it's cheap they'll be less likely to put out good games since they're not making as much money back on them. I feel like Anthem is just the beginning of this.

i got a month to play Unravel 1&2 and then played Titanfall 2 story and Bulletstorm.

For $5 that was a steal but that is pretty much how i use subscriptions like that.

if i didn't sign up for a month then i probably would have never played the latest madden which i didn't think i would find entertaining but i did....not enough to go out and buy it right away but now i may consider it when i see it on sale...same goes for all the other games in their vault that i never played.

In Sony defence, yes, it´s good value now. Most people didn´t realized yet, but Sony is and will be under new management for the foreseeable future, so, changes in their policies (like the new censorship) are to be expected.

My assumption here is that EA made a calculated decision to appeal to Sony.

Consider this...

Sony didn't want the service before. Personally, I haven't really played and enjoyed an EA game since Burnout Revenge and Dead Space 1-3. EA has lost a ton of revenue since Battlefield V. The error was compounded by Anthem disappointing as much as it did, both commercially and critically.

Knowing this, why would Sony make an appeal to them? Chances are, they wouldn't. Knowing Sony is the market leader by leaps and bounds and they're doing fine, I would imagine that EA is the one who asked Sony to allow Access. I wouldn't be surprised if Sony said deal under the condition that EA increases Sony's cut of game sales and subscriptions through the service.

Tried it on xb1. It was good at first, but they watered it down. Fifa no longer releases anywhere near as quick, and i'd assume it's the same for other games. You might get value, but honestly it's decent and not much more.

Ummm...EA offered Sony this service the same time they offered it to Microsoft...Microsoft said yes, while Sony said no...this is just them doing a 180 after years of saying no haha. I don't know how you came up with that Xbox is losing this as if it was some sort of exclusive thing. It was only exclusive because Sony said no. And like others have already said. EA has games on the service for Xbox dating all the way back to the OG Xbox...if this is just PS4 games on the service for Sony, then it would still be better on Xbox. I had EA Access for a year on Xbox but imho it's not worth it.
New additions are rare and most games only cost a couple euros when they're on sale.
Besides that I don't want to support EA with a subscription any longer, they realy need to come with a fabulous game without predatory micro transactions in order for me to buy something off their greedy hands.

I have both Xbox and PS4. I don't pay for it on Xbone because most of their good games are the backcompat ones they have available on the service and I already have those. On the PS4, they won't have those. Just this gen games. I don't think it'll be worth it.
