A Game Of Thrones RPG would never work

The appeal of a Game Of Thrones RPG is obvious, but a video game adaptation of the hit tv series and novels would never work.

There already was a Game of Thrones RPG. It came out in 2012.

If they base it off the TV show, sure I can see it being bad considering the show is already pretty “gimped” when compared to the books.

The TV show probably wouldn’t transfer to well into a game, but at the same time it’s the most known version of the story.

Itheres tons from the book that they could pull from and bring to life better than the tv show would.

Never played it, but I've heard it was fairly enjoyable although a bit generic.

of course not. most money would be burnt by getting the license. how could a decent rpg come out of no budget left?

LegoIsAwesome1817d ago

It might work? Game Of Thrones with Shadow of Mordor treatment?

spicelicka1817d ago

Not really, the Telltale game used the license and there are shitty browser/mobile games using the license. That's a non-issue.

Kabaneri1817d ago

CD Projekt Red could it with the right budget.

arkard1817d ago

It could work if it was an alternate reality. Same character, different motives/allegiances

Nitrowolf21817d ago

Idk why everyone thinks it would have to be based on the tv show, when the book has a vast amount of material that differs from the TV series that would make it better suited for a game adaptation.

garos821817d ago

it would work just fine in the hands of capable developers

CloudStrife9001817d ago

Monolith with that nemesis system would be interesting, but I agree with the general consensus, CD Red would do wonders. Personally though, if it ever happens, I would much rather they choose a different timeframe than that of the TV Show. There's so much lore to pick from.
