Yeah: for instance Microsoft is under the gun for providing exclusive first party content. And Even they say this quote from article :"Microsoft – who will be its direct competitors with their own xCloud – feel Stadia will lack the content to drive the kind of engagement Google will want to see."

I know "we know" but seeing as 90% do not read articles before commenting, never the less read a second link in the article. I thought I should quote the second link in the article: " His response was a concise one, saying he doesn’t see Stadia as “being relevant at this point”, and stating that Sony’s and Microsoft’s consoles will exceed Stadia’s specs “by far"".

So there you have it the 'power' of the cloud! LOL. He said BY FAR PS5 and xb4 will exceed stadia's power. Nice

One of the biggest things that excite me is another possible way to play my games when I don’t have my console. ESP cloud simply bc I will have a my Xbox console at home.

Exactly. Its just a way to keep playing when you cant access your console. Its similar to remote play like option that can never be as good as your console. Problem is they market it as an independent new platform that doesnt need local hardware and are going to target a more casual audience, and focus more on that audience to the detriment of the more dedicated audience.

you could always get a switch, but I do agree it wouldn't be bad to have xcloud as an option. I just don't think stadia will have many games I want to play away from home. Also I see this destroying my cellphone data plan, where having a switch or a handheld would eliminate that.

If it were an added feature to ones account, its be great for everyone. It can be good for individuals who dont want to buy a console. But as a primary source for many gamers, all these services come up lacking and have many downsides which need to be overcome

Customers will decide which is the better option. In this time and age average internet bandwidth will not allow a comparable expoerience between Stadia and consoles. For some people might be a good alterantive to buying expensive hardware .. i will stick with PS5 and XBOX2 as I like to own what I pay for.

I think both next gen consoles are going to be kick ass so unless they make stadia so cheap n easy I doubt it will be many gamers primary platform

I hate to say this but....

They bought Youtube in 2006 when there's no Smartphones or Mobile Internet sufficient for video streaming.

What they are doing right now, is trying to shape the future. Be it Stadia is 10 or 20 years too early for people, it doesn't matter to them. When people are ready, they are already ready as ever.

Streaming was the direction a lot of media was heading though. There was copious data to suggest that people were going to be moving away from physical or cable services. I dont know if it was really noticable that smart phones would explode in popularity though, but even ms knew that mobile computing poses a threat to their dominance in the information world.

Gaming, there isnt much to suggest that console or PC gamers want to move away from traditional models. There is also nothing to suggest that the current or near future technological capabilities of these services even make it a viable consideration.

What data there is is that there is a market for streaming services. That market isnt primarily the traditional market. Sony knew this with psnow, and its early marketing was not console gamer focused, but PC and casual user focused. They backed off in some areas, and j think they found there is a segment of the console.market that is open to the services, but obviously, there is still plenty that prefer to keep what we already have.

Most of the articles I see about these kinds of services seem to posit that these services are a replacement for the current model, as opposed to being a way to open up the products to new markets.

He is stating the obvious. Physical hardware is better than streaming.

Stadia could find a niche place for those who want to play on the go and doesn't care about input lag but this is just an optional way. This way is not going to replace consoles.

Stadia is really not for gamers. They want to tap into casuals and or kids, to be more precise, who watch streamers and PDPie. Their parents don't need to buy hardware or software, and when their grades go south they click cancel subscription. It is convenient, but at the end of the day it will have lag and inconsistent picture quality. What kind of games do you think Google will put as their exclusive content? Yeah...I see at like a taping into untaped market.

haha doesn't that sound funny to you though? Not the game part, but the part where you would BUY a service to use other services to STREAM, that you still have to pay for? That sounds just like either SLING (minus the games). You still need to own a physical screen to play on.

What are you trying to explain? Stadia will cost money. They want to implement it in ytube. You watch someone play, and you can instantly play that game through your browser. When your subscription is over, so is the fun. Say you are on a trip. In a new country, Solo or with your kids. I'm not gonna explain more. What I meant is that everybody here is gonna buy a new console, or a new PC, because we understand that the best way to play is on a native hardware. We are not there yet for cloud gaming, but Google and others need gamers for early adopters who pay premium in this experimental stage

Right I understood what you was saying. What I was trying to say is: There is the streaming service
SLING that you can get on devices (example Fire stick, ROKU, some SmartTV's). The SLING(comes with two bundles), But the majority of streams, you still have to pay for separately. Stadia would be like sling the service that you have to pay for. plus the other streaming services that you have to pay for. With SLING it comes on hardware so STADIA will be like that except nothing included free games. (so far).

Making comparisons of services bundling services is hard to convey.
