Today, Nintendo confirmed that the new Animal Crossing and Luigi's Mansion 3 will indeed hit the Nintendo Switch this year. As for Bayonetta 3, Nintendo is still rolling out the TBA for it, suggesting the new character action game won't be hitting the Nintendo platform this year. As you may know, the follow up to Bayonetta 2 was announced back at The Game Awards in 2017. Since it was announced, Nintendo hasn't really shown off or said anything about the game. And so when 2019 came around and this still hadn't changed, it began to look doubtful the game would come this year, and now it looks even more doubtful.
PlatinumGames has released the first of a four-part documentary examining the development of Bayonetta 3. It's jam-packed with fascinating anecdotes from the team, including a rather surprising revelation from the game's director, Yusuke Miyata.
Miyata confirmed that Hideki Kamiya, creator of the Bayonetta franchise, approached him directly to offer up the role of the sequel's director. However, instead of jumping at the opportunity, Miyata was initially hesitant and was worried that Kamiya himself would interfere in the project too much.

PlatinumGames and Nintendo talk Bayonetta Origins development and how it was in the works right alongside Bayonetta 3.
It won't be releasing this year at all.
I figured Bayo 3 was a 2020 game when they announced Astral Chain was coming this year. They've released multiple games in the same year before, but I can't see them releasing two Nintendo exclusive character action games between now and December.
They announced this way too early which is rather unusual for Nintendo.
Bayonetta 3 and Metroid Prime 4 were announced way too early. The two previously mentioned titles are the games that would make me take the plunge and buy a Switch.
