Nintendo VR nearly happened 2015-2016, but PSVR caused a delay

Nintendo reportedly had a VR project in the works as far back as 2015, but the higher-end PSVR for PS4 caused it to be delayed.

And now PSVR is dominating the VR market and is having strong VR support . If higher specs was the reason for Nintendo to stop the project, then they better bury it because with PSVR 2, things are going to get even better.

I'd think a Switch BUILT INTO a VR headset would be amazing, even with graphical compromises. I know it's easier said than done, but Nintendo is creative and can do a lot with limited horsepower, especially with the cartoony games...

Nintendo isn’t one to feel threatened by superior hardware nowadays, although launching an expensive peripheral on the flop that is Wii U doesn’t make much sense so it’s understandable

Labo isn't really the same kind of VR that other offerings have. It's more just a 3D version of some games, and doesn't offer the same kind of immersion that other VR offers now.
