Or maybe it’s just because they’ve been unbelievably poor in keys areas this generation. Fine if you buy a games consoles to upgrade hardware every year or so, as for games they been seriously lacking and now arguably one of their biggest exclusives is jumping ship
I think you hit it on the head, could be ie it’s not confirmed and it’s not happening yet pretty much like the whole of this generation for Xbox. Failed broken and cancelled promises.

I mean why else would a company with their own console start releasing their games on competing consoles? Other than the fact that they aren't happy with sales on their own hardware... it logically makes sense. On a side note I am now about 90% we will see some MS rep in Smash.

This is classic Microsoft, Embrace, Enhance, and Extend business model.

Embrace Nintendo by offering them XBL support, Enhance it later through XB Play Anywhere and maybe even Nintendo Games on GamePass, Extend their reach through the entire Nintendo community so they becoming addicted to Live.

It is a win-win for both... Broaden their gaming communities and sell more games/services where they both create a bigger audience.

No subscription needed It’s achivements not playing with others online and if it was playing with others online it seems it’s free with Minecraft as long as you have Nintendo online subscription you can play online against other people with Xbox live

So you do not need two subscription

I dunno. I guess you could see Minecraft on all platforms except PlayStation. Everywhere that offers XBL sign-in already supports achievements, crossplay, and the ability to transfer purchases at no additional cost.

Hmm what's next Super Lucky's Tale on Switch with achievements or Master Chief rearing his head on the Switch with achievements? Glad to see Nintendo and Microsoft are working well but there has to be some hidden catch on the Microsoft side. I wonder how long before Mario rears his head on an Xbox.
