Author Writes: The Nintendo Switch has exploded in popularity in its first two years, but one of its biggest surprises is how it's become a perfect place for JRPGs.
Last month, the beloved JRPG Octopath Traveler was banished forthwith from the Kingdom of the Switch eShop. Okay, if you'll excuse the dramatics, it was temporarily delisted with no official explanation as to why. Well the good news is that it's back, as confirmed by Square Enix itself.
Octopath Traveler delisted from the Nintendo eShop, leaving fans puzzled. Stay updated on this surprising turn of events.
Maybe due to it being published by square now has something to do with it. They delisted the Nintendo published version and will probably list the Square one going forward.
Go digital they say
Example after example shows why all digital isn't a good idea. Yet people still doing it.
Today Nihon Falcon shared a lot of sweet gameplay of the upcoming action JRPG Ys X: Nordics, showing multiple aspects of the game.
Hopefully they release the NA version not too long after or at least offer an English dub version for Asia at launch and I would end up buying both.
I hope these stages and time limits were done for the demo only. I still have to finish 9, love the games but falcom need a bigger budget to upgrade their engine, these games still look like ps2 era graphics lol
It'll never happen, but Persona 5 on Switch would just be amazing.
I have Octopath on Switch but played the other games on PS4 . Hopefully Switch gets more games besides the games I already have on PS4 . There are a handful but not merely enough
Persona 5 is the best JRPG ever released within HD-4K era yet. Second, Vita have much more JRPGs.
It is a good JRPG system but not perfect at all.
Need Persona and Danganronpa!
Not by a long shot. The PS3, 3DS, PSP, PS4, and the Vita are leagues ahead of it. The Switch is limited by attempting to rerelease all the games from previous systems, with only the option of being portable. Having all the above mentioned systems, there would be absolutely no motivation to repurchase them.
It is strange that all these developers are not willing to risk releasing new concepts on the "fastest selling system". Makes one ponder what they know that hinders their faith in the Switch. 🤔🤷🏾♂️
