Hellblade isn't a good game, it's pretty, but limited.

Shadow of the Tomb Raider is a decent by the numbers game, but overall disappointing.

Life is Strange has never been a high quality game. It's endearing, but compare it to another game in the same genre "Detroit" and it's inferior in virtually every way. Visuals are horrible, gameplay is limited, and choices are rarely meaningful. The original game had some excellent aspects to it, but everything since has been a letdown. Before the Storm was terrible.

Shadow Warrior is okay, but i wouldn't hold it as an example of why games are great.

Rocket League is a fun little game, very polished, but there isn't much to it. The game caught on, it's well built, but c'mon?

Ruiner is an underrated game, i bought it at launch. The Metro series is phenomenal, Exodus will be an example of a high quality game. I Agree there, but if you wanted to use examples of great current games why not use God of War and Spider-man? Uncharted 4 certainly fits that description. HZD, NNKII, Yakuza, Bloodborne, Witcher, Transistor.

No thanks, if I wanted a PS4 I would have one. Had a PS4 and PS4 Pro and sold them. Dont like their exclusives and if thats the case then their is no reason to own one. Even if I did Xbox One X would still be my main console with PS4 as a side piece for when a exclusive comes along that I actually do like. The only one I wish was on Xbox is King Of Fighters.

This is the problem with putting day one exclusives on gamepass and this model, since Microsoft is going to lose physical sales of software they wont invest AAA type budgets in games because thy dont want to lose money. Gamepass will be a first party AA machine smh. Doesnt mean AA games cant be good but the ppl thirsting for big budget will see far and few.

Titles like FH4 flies right in the face of that theory though. Not only is it one of the best games of 2018, it's also AAA and one of the highest rated games as well. Not only does it do very well on GP, it's also the fastest selling Horizon ever and doing very well at retail and digital. FH4's DLC has also seen great sales, mainly from GP subscribers

GP has many AAA games on it from 3rd party devs too. The bottom line is, if the game is good, gamers will buy it and play it...period. Regardless what method they use.

Halo Infinite, Gears 5 are two upcoming triple A games coming to Game Pass. Playground is currently making a triple A game, NT is rumored to making a triple A game, not sure where you're getting this information that MS isn't investing in triple A games especially when Game Pass is only an option and not a requirement to play these games.

Are we now going to argue and complain if a game is AA or AAA coming to game pass now? Seems a bit petty, especially when there are triple A games and a variety of other games indie and other wise available on Game Pass. Not sure when it was said that every game available on Game Pass had to be a triple A game.

The people thirsting for big budget triple A games don't have to wait for them to come to Game Pass. They can just actually buy any that are released through digital or retail.

@gangsta_red Please don't compare games like Halo and Gears of War with say games like Uncharted or TLOU. Though Uncharted 4 has a tacked on MP, Single Player was always it's main focus. It has a 15-20 hours story campaign. Gears of War 4 single player campaign was under 10 hours which do tell you that it was always supposed to be a Multiplayer oriented game.

Where is that NT rumor that they are making a AAA title? Can you share a link? Last i heard, they are splitting their studio to 50 devs per team and they want to release a game every 2 years. You don't get a AAA game made by a team of 50 inside 2 years and also creating a new IP takes time.

I give you Playground and Initiative though. But, we still don't know what kind of games they are working on . For all we know, they could be creating a live-service single player game that is similar to the upcoming Ubisoft's Beyond Good & Evil 2. It just makes more sense they invest in a title like that to keep people playing longer than something similar to God of War which has a definite ending.

And these "one & done" games you mention are some of the biggest sellers last year. so, obviously people love it.

As i said, Microsoft needs people to keep subscribed to game-pass. They are not gonna make a "one & done" AAA game that took 5 years/200+ developers and release it for 10$ on game-pass. It just don't make sense businesswise. AA games and AAA service based single player or multiplayer games will most likely be Microsoft's strategy.

Not true though. Its Microsoft's intentions to put out compelling software with all the studio acquisitions they just made. 13 studios that will be putting their games on GP #DayOne. @StarFar2 Outer Worlds is a AA title. Where did you got the info that it is a 60$ AAA title? It's IP is owned by Take-Two as of now. If there is a sequel, it will be multi-platform. I don't think there will be one though.

I never said that Sony doesn't dabble in GaaS titles. But, i can tell you for sure most of the fans loved TLOU for it's single player campaign and the single player campaign will be the main selling point for TLOU 2 as well.

Let me ask you something, do you really believe Microsoft will take a risk and invest on something like God of War or Days Gone or Death Stranding and release it on Game-Pass for 10$? None of these titles are GaaS but most likely would have cost 100 million+ dollars to make?

Yeah, I have also talked about how incredible God of War is, how much I love Spider-Man PS4, and my outrage over how SDS handled informing its community that Online Franchise was being removed from MLB the Show 18. I also posted about my excitement over Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3 for the Switch (the game I am most excited for this year). I have called-out EA for Star Wars and micro-transactions (really EA gets called out often). Wallstreet37, I am a gamer... I game. I enjoy my systems very much, and I see the benefits of each one. I read the article, because I was curious about the game. It looks OK I guess. Hard to tell from a few screen caps. Not really my style of game. May be good, may not be. If you have game pass, give it a go, then spread the word if its good. If not, forget about it and leave it to die.

I think it's fine if that's all it is. But, I'd imagine most people would still prefer big AAA games in addition to it. If they happen to come to game pass, then great. If they always go onto game pass for the foreseeable future, then great.

If not, then it is what it is, but to sell consoles, MS will need to have something that makes it desireable.

Really loved this type of game from the late 90's. The guy in the article is right, we don't see them much any more and that's a shame. Looking forward to seeing what it's like.
