But who for PG or CYgames? Nintendo own 5% of CYgames so they could always increase their stake. Alternatively PG could be bought out. If they were who would buy them? MS? If MS buy them they would need to foster a better relationship than they had with scalebound, if not the talent will walk.
Alternatively PG finished the work they started and so fulfilled their end of the contract.

Cygames and Platinum were co-developing it, now Cygames is taking fully over. Granblue was one of my more anticipated jRPGs for PS4, so I hope they don't screw it up. Having Platinum on board was some sort of quality guarantee at least.

microsoft purchasing a company doesn't mean anything. they haven't utilized any of the companies that they acquired last gen at all. Microsoft is literally one of the worst gaming companies ever.

Its been heavily hinted at by a few vetted insiders that MS isn't even interested in possibly acquiring Platinum.

After what happened with Scalebound, I doubt it. Platinum has a better chance with Nintendo

I still think Scalebound was cancelled as the play anywhere feature required the contract to be rewritten. At the time I do not think MS were willing to increase their budget to justify the increased cost associated with play anywhere. It is also a perfect reason to stay quiet about the reason as MS wouldn't want people to know that their new strategy just cost them a much anticipated game.

P* isn't in financial trouble, and there is nothing to suggest that they want to be brought. They tend to be fiercely independent, and I think a lot of their belief in how to make games wouldn't work well in a non-indie environment.

Plus, there is no reason they'd end a contract just because they were brought out. MS has brought a couple studios which are still working on a game which will be released by other publishers.

The game is only 50% done and we are seeing PF leaving development ...this is very bad and could actually point to a complete scrap or new beginning....more so because PG its not even keeping consulting work on the project.Cygames have there hands in too many projects and from the looks they cant handle that much.

Platinum’s involvement was most likely the main reason most people were interested in this game in the first place
